Gentlemen, What are the new .44 Mountain Guns going for in the real world? I want one, but I'm trying to figure how BADLY I want one.
At those prices, I'd look for a nice, pre-lock/MIM example, e.g., 629-4,
625-6. etc. Should be able to find one for $800 to $1000, without much work.
I may need to come out west!
Around here, any prelock MG that isn’t thrashed is $1100-$1200 which makes it pretty much a push!
You won’t get any of my 629-4s for $1000.
One sold on GB for 1750 and another at 1280. Of course you have to add shipping, taxes, and transfer fee to that.
That’s a great observation. I think that had a lot do with Smith’s price point. $1200 is transaction value in my parts, and what I can see online. I think Smith is trying to take back market share from its second hand market. Kill the lock, re-offer discontinued models people like, and price at the money or a little less than good condition collector value.I may need to come out west!
