These guys were in EVERYTHING

He died at the Townhouse Motel on Harry Hines Blvd. in Dallas in 1961. Heart attack, I think.

Ward Bond lived a full life and ate and drank accordingly even though he was warned by doctors. After he died his ashes were spread between the CA coast and Catalina Island. He had been quoted as saying "I've enjoyed seafood my whole life and I want to return the favor."

Leo Gordon was an ex-felon who served time for armed robbery in Folsom Prison and was called "the scariest man I ever met" by director Don Siegel. In one movie he acted in was partially filmed at San Quentin where some of the guards remembered him and he was not popular with them.

Actor Ed Faulkner who was in a number of movies with John Wayne said that when filming McClintock...John Wayne asked him if ever met Leo Gordon before. When he replied no...Duke told him to give Gordon "a wide berth".

Leo Gordon was mentioned in an earlier post, "the three Gordons".

To make a list of character actors who appeared in as many films as the guys you listed would be a long and tedious chore. But those you named is certainly a good start. I always wondered what salary those "B" guys made in a picture.

Lots of Great side kicks, that helped make films great.

"Hay Cisco"......

"Dang, Nab it".......
:D

BWTM! He was in Magnum Force. And who can forget Big Ed Mustafa!

He was in Coogan's Bluff, and 4 Dirty Harry movies. Horace King in Sudden Impact.

Dozens and dozens of other credits.

There are almost to many to mention! Every movie I see actors that I remember from other movies. Can I name them? No, not without Idmb.

How could we forget Alan Hale (Sr)?
He was sometimes "second banana" but he was always a comedic character actor.

Speaking of Second Bananas,

Tim Conway
Don Knotts

Loved both of these guys. If you haven't ever seen it you tube Conway's "dentist" sketch. Here he displays his natural talent in one of the funniest things I've ever watched.

Those are all great choices and favorites of mine. One of my favorites has always been Dick Miller, but his gun shop was not too well stocked. No phased plasma rifle in 40-watt range..."Just what you see, Pal.". IIRC Joe Dante has used him in most every movie Dante directed.
