Lawn Mowed.

Did the small one of three Monday , was only 94 but the index was over 100 . I had cramping in hands , left foot and thighs Monday night from the heat. I'm getting too old to push a mower even on a small yard.

I take a couple of 3 generation allergy pills. If neither of my grandkids are available and I have to mow the lawn, I plan on two hours on the recliner with a wet dish towel over my eyes and face. Yes I have used a rider for the last 30 + years. It is my firm belief that yards were invented by a woman to keep her husband from fishing.

I cut mine this morning, hoping to beat the heat and humidity. I was wrong. The air is so humid I was creating a wake with each pass.

My cardiologist told me over 10 years ago i shouldn't be cutting the grass. Still doing it, but in the morn. Told the neighbors if they see me laying in the yard , ain't be taking a nap. There is a sense of accomplishment for producing immediate visible results, with no "committees " needed.

I just moved from a postage stamp sized lawn to a big lawn that takes just over an hour to mow. I was looking at a rider when my brother said, "when I hear you say a rider I picture a fat guy drinking a beer while sitting on a rider". So I got a self propelled mower and spend a hour mowing. I can use the exercise and will walk behind the self propelled until no longer able, at the age of 68 I hope i can do it for a long time before I break down and buy the rider.
Called my brother and said I don't drink beer while mowing but now I'm a fat guy behind a mower not on a rider
