Hey folks, I've already posted a few times without introducing myself. I go by eforest99 and live near Knoxville in East Tennessee. I love to shoot as a hobby and always carry for self defense. I've had firearms since I was 16 and started learning to shoot about age 8, taught by my Marine Corp Reservist sharp shooter dad! I've only had one situation where I had to self defense draw in my 60+ years; and 41 years of CCW. Pic below of that gun, the only pistol I had for many years.
EDC is a S&W M&P Shield Plus 9mm and a Taurus PT738 TCP .380 (an "A" model and flawless performance with FMJ since 2010). My wife also has a S&W M&P Shield Plus 9mm. We also have some Berettas, Walthers, etc. I have my mom's 1955 Model S&W 22/32 Airweight .22 revolver kit gun, although it actually belongs to my oldest daughter! lol. My parents and one set of grandparents all carried. My wife and I both have carry permits, and I think that CCW should be CCF(firearm), CCS(security), etc; I have never used a firearm as a "weapon!" A car can be a "weapon" if used as such. Anyway, looking forward to this forum!

Welcome from Crossville TN.
I learned something today after googling info on your Raven Arms photo (hadn’t heard of them before) Sounds like one of the better Saturday Night specials of that era…..and it helped you in that one moment.
Cheers and Thanks

The Rest of the Story; the one time I ever had to draw...

38 years ago, six very large drunk guys forced my pregnant wife and I off the road in our little truck, screaming at me that I had cut them off (I had done nothing except for trying to avoid them, as they were driving obviously impaired). They surrounded our vehicle and said they were going to teach us both a lesson. My wife was terrified and weeping, I got out and faced them, drawing on them at the same time. I told them I may not take them all down, but I would get at least 2 or 3 of them, to get back in their vehicle and leave. They did! I had never fired the pistol, not knowing if it even worked...

Welcome to the forum.Good thing you did'nt have to use that raven.Mine was a .25 and been better to throw it at'em.POS.
Mine was .25 too, and pretty pathetic! lol
Thankful though that it served it's purpose that one time without having to find out if it would even fire.

Welcome neighbor. I live in Morgan County which borders Cumberland County. I live near the famous Brushy Mountain State Prison site (now a tourist attraction including restaurants and winery). I live in a nearby beautiful valley.
Thanks neighbor! Years back, I drove through there every day with my job! Beautiful County!!

Thanks! Mine felt like it could fall apart in my hand! lol
I used to drive through Cumberland County and Crossville nearly every day years back for my job. I also spent many, many weekends at Lake Tansi when I was young. Cheers!
