29-2, 25-5, 48-4, 28-2, 27-2, 25-3.

After two months on the road…
Picking up a bunch when I get back to TN.
That 28-2 is getting target football cuts.
Anyone want those things that are on it?

The 48-4, is that a M-53 bbl? I've never seen a shrouded bbl on any 22 but a 53. Did you mention that before in another thread? I now I'd love to have one on my 17 if it was possible.

That's quite a haul, you've definitely jumped in with both feet! The Model 28-2 is interesting...nickel? That's a bit unusual and probably not original- nice nickel job that was maybe done at the factory? The stocks may be Hogues target stocks. Congratulations and enjoy!

P&R stop in the early 80s, Smith & Wesson’s or pinned barrels to keep them secure and a recessed cylinder around the rim on the cartridge
Tom
AHH!!! now I get it!!! All of my 44 Mag revolvers are pinned and recessed. They're all from the 60's and 70's. I've always preferred that to the "newer" models. I guess I'm sort of a traditionalist. Off hand I don't think I've heard the term used before. Of course there are a lot of terms you guys use here that I'm slowly picking up. Thanks Tom.

Rick

Nice haul.

The M25-5 and the M25-3 aren't recessed though.
Aye, yes. Not the 45s.

This is a prime example of “ How bad does the sickness get?” I do believe Richard has shown us, especially for somebody that’s only been collecting a little over a year! Congratulations
Tom
Down time when I’m not gigging! The gunbroker effect. The OCD in me feels like I need to finish sets of revolvers. Three barrel lengths, two finishes.. kind of thing. Still a few to get. The chase of finding one for a good deal…

Yes. It’s one of the reasons I bid on that particular one. It has to be a 53 barrel…. But now I’m wondering whether the cylinder is a 48 where the barrel shoulder would have had to have been cut back, or I’m wondering if the cylinder is one of the rare 53 cylinders that was chambered for 22 mag… I will see when I pick them up.
The case I think is a case for a 29.. bit of a mish mash for sure.

The 28-2 they did say was a nickel refinish. I know they did do a few nickel 28s, so I’m not sure if this was originally a nickel or not, but I got that impression.
I passed on a 6 inch nickel 28 back in March… I would’ve liked it, but I had already bought too many at that point..,
