Hello guys,

just some pics of my last find.
Here is a museum grade revolver, at least to my eye, and it is really never used. Blueing 99%.
Wondering if you know some production figures/years/details about this old lady.
Hope you enjoy and look forward to hear from you!

Best and take car
Tony

I am in no way, any sort of expert, but IMO, it has been reblued. The S&W stamp on the right side of the frame looks "washed out" near the bottom, the rib on the top of the barrel looks like it was buffed, and there appears to be some soft edges. Again, not an expert, just doesn't look correct to me.

Hi There,

I too believe this has been refinished. What strikes me most is the polishing
it received. A S&W finish is near mirror and this one, I can see the buffing
lines. It isn't up to the Factory finish.

Also the lanyard is an after thought. If Factory installed, the serial number would
have been re-stamped so it would be completely readable.

Cheers!
Webb

There are probably museums in Italy that would be glad to have it

It is a nice target revolver in .44 Russian. I agree with the refinish although nicely done. The buffing marks are too prominent in my opinion. I question the lanyard ring also. New Model #3 rings were 'D' shaped. If this was a factory installation, then the serial number would be restamped on the frame under the left grip.
