I've got my new I-bolt. It's pretty. I've cleaned and lubed it, and I've been running some snap caps through the action. and even, a time or two, real rounds, but I haven't fired it yet.
I'm rather far from a bolt action expert, but I think it's not working right.
It's got a double stack 4 shot non-removable magazine.
The two rounds that go on the left side, rounds 1 and 3, give me lots of trouble.
Round 3 is the most trouble, probably because it has all that jostling going on overhead as Round 2 is loaded and then ejected.
Sometimes Round 3 loads just fine. Sometimes it jumps out with the ejecting Round 2. What I really hate is when it pops up when the bolt is being drawn back to extract Round2, but stays on top. Then the bolt tries to feed both Round3 and Round4, and we have a nasty jam.
Round 1 generally feeds fine, but sometimes it pops its little butt out too far when being fed, and there's a stovepipe.
Rounds 2 and 4 have never been any problem.
I guess there's some kind of poetic justice in here for a left wing gun nut, but I wish I could fix it.
Any advice?
Should I send it to Smith and Wesson?
I've got this over on the long guns section too, but that doesn't seem to get much traffic.
