Went to the Bill Goodmans Gun and Knife show in Dayton today. Was kind of disappointed. Some S&W's but not many and kind of high priced. But I did purchase a Case Bowie Knife that is pretty cool. At least it was a good way to pass 3 hours on a very cold winters day. Thanks Larry

I haven't been to the Dayton show in many years, but it used to be a large, great show. You could find about anything you wanted.
There were a lot of dealers with new guns, but that probably went away when the ATF put most of the weekend dealers out of business.

I went to the Westland Gun Show in Columbus on Sunday. I agree it was disappointing but I did find a very clean Model 48. I hadn't seen one before. Its used but looks brand new. At first I thought it was a Model 19. The Dayton show is usually better than Westland but due to the weather, and family commitments, I could only go to the Westland show.

Well, the required background check for anybody who rents a table to sell a gun has certainly dampened my enthusiasm for that show. The private sellers with 10 or 12 handguns from their personal collections used to be the guys I'd search out, now they're all gone.

Did see a mod 17 90% $375 walking around....otherwise, the only "older" S&W's I see there have been refinished, or are in poor condition.

There was also a 32mag - 32/20 Ruger Blackhawk Convertible for a reasonable price from someone walking around.

At least there is OGCA next weekend....

I went to the Dayton show on Saturday and was disappointed, as well. There wasn't anything interesting, and the only Goodman's person I spoke with was rude. The entire atmosphere/experience has changed.

This was the first time I attended a gunshow without purchasing anything. I will not go to another Bill Goodman's show.

I quit the Goodman shows many years ago, when Old Bill ran it was, not to bad, but after he quit just can't stand the ones running it now.
