Are Cheaper than dirt or Bud's guns OK?
My local dealer is having a very hard time getting guns, like most smaller dealers I suspect.
Cheaper than Dirt or Bud's have the gun I want and am thinking about ordering it from them and having it delivered to my local dealer.
Anyone have any good or bad experiences with CTD or Bud's Gun Shop?
I am asking because some people have put horror stories on these forums about other online vendors...guns came with quality issues or perhaps factory seconds.
Just wondering how CTD or Bud's have done for others...I am thinking they are fine but I don't want to ASSUME anything when I am spending hundreds of $$$.

I have purchased from Bud's one gun and a number of accessories and 3 guns from Jet Guns which is somehow affiliated with Bud's I believe. I have had very good service fast shipping and great follow up - one issue with a Bud's order that I sent a customer service request email on, they called me directly by phone and worked the issues out right away. All in all I would give both Bud's and Jet Guns an excellent rating based on my experiences. I have not done any business with Cheaper than Dirt so I can't address them for you. Hope this helps you.

Never bought a gun but have purchased ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt. Orders were correct and quick, and they include a pre-printed shipping tag in case you have to return.

I've dealt with Bud's a number of times and have always been satisfied.

Buds is fine and has good prices if you pay by MO or send a check. You need to know exactly what you want (as in a new gun) because it is near impossible to talk with someone. If you know the model of gun and it is in stock they are hard to beat. They sell boatloads of guns and have a very high rating all things considered.
I never bought from CTD. Besides Dirt is not cheap it's actually very expensive.

Good experience with a couple of gun purchases from Bud's. I'd buy from them again.

I'd buy from Bud's again. If they'd let me. I got banned because I
raised a stink over their insurance.
Been dealing mostly with Shooters of Jacksonville lately. Prices and
inventory seem better than Bud's, anyway.

I've bought a few guns from Bud's and when they're the cheapest I would buy from them again. Be careful of the add on fees. I've bought other stuff from CTD, never a gun, but wouldn't hesitate to do so if they were the cheapest, and frequently they are. I just can't afford all the gun I want. But then, who can?

Bud's is fine for outright buys, the trade guy is no joy to deal with. It takes days for him to get back to you, IF, he even bothers.
I'd check with my dealer too, some of them will not transfer a gun from Bud's since they undercut the market, which is fine by me, but not with a few dealers I know.

Have purchased from Bud's before. No hiccups or problems and shipping was fast. My brother in law bought a couple of guns from CTD and he ended up having to send them both back to the manufacturer to fix problems. Might just be a coincidence but I know he won't buy from them anymore.
As always, check out the gun thoroughly at the ffl before taking possession.
On a side note - I also bought from The Gun Source. Even though the gun I purchased showed "in stock" it still took 4 weeks for it to arrive at my ffl. Not happy with that at all.....

I ordered some small things from The Gun Source and it was 3 weeks and they weren't shipped. I cancelled the order and put them on the "do not use again" list.

I used Bud's once and CDNN a number of times. If CDNN has what I'm looking for, I'll go with them over Bud's.

I have bought from Buds, Jet Guns, CTD, and others with no problem. I can't tell you when the last time I bought a gun from a local shop. I can always find them cheaper on line. Don

Guess I'm in the minority with Bud's. Ordered and paid for a gun from them. Didn't ship for 3 weeks although it was supposedly in stock. When I sent an inquiry to them via their page , two days later I got a nasty email saying they were extremely busy and would send the order to the shipping department. Three phone calls were disconnected before a human being ever came on the line. I will never deal with them again.

Never bought a gun online. BUT I have purchased 2 from Buds and my son has purchased one from them. They have treated me very well. Also each purchase was in the store so there was no problem as to getting to talk to anyone. Yes I would buy from them again.

The deputy I work with purchased a really nice Windham Weaponry AR style rifle.from CTD. He was very pleased with the service and the amount of time it took to get the rifle. I have ordered stuff other than guns from them and they seemed okay to deal with.

Bud's has been very prompt and professional in my experience with them. No problem reaching a person, either.

Bud's has a list on their website where you can see what FFL's in your area are on file with them. If they are highlighted, then they have agreed to take any shipment that arrives from Bud's, you don't have to notify them that you are having something shipped to them, but I still do, as that's just good manner in my opinion.
I've seen a lot of people with complaints on Bud's but I think that when you deal in that sort of volume you're going to have some mistakes, it's how they take care of them that will make or break them. I wouldn't hesitate to give them a try, and intend on it in a couple months when the wife is settled down from the three guns I bought last month...

I just got a used model 10 from Bud's. Fast service and delivery was as promised. I agree about knowing exactly what you want... but that goes for any on line purchase. Although i believe Bud's does have a return policy. I have also bought plenty of ammo and other accessories from CTD, LG, Bulk A.. all have been fine.

I've bought 4 guns from Buds...awesome service and quick delivery.
There is a LE/MIL section on their website- look for the badge logo- which will take you there...you can get most guns for $50 less than the normal site. I am buying a M&Pc 9mm for $400 since my mil.
Good luck!

I used one of Buds listed "preferred FFL's" as well. They called me when the gun finally came in and gave me a ration of grief for not setting up the transfer with them first.
I had a great experience with Robertson's Trading Post.

I've bought around 8-9 guns within the past year from Bud's. Always a great experience. My FFL charges a $15.00 fee and he likes doing the transfers.

I think that both CTD and I were victims of a dishonest employee of CTD in that I made a online purchase from CTD and a couple of days later my CC was used twice in CTD's home town to make purchases by someone unknown. When I called CTD the person I talked to was snippy about the whole deal denying all responsibility and not taking much interest in my tale of woe. My CC company took care of me. I will never deal with CTD again just because of their representative's attitude. .......... Big Cholla

Be sure and buy a BUDS survival pack with your gun purchase!
I particularly like the contents of 2 (two) aspirin and sit down and read the Bible.
Bud's Emergency Survival/Food Pack $259.00
