NHL STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS 2012

i know...i say forget the schedule, have them play back to back to finish this round and start rd 3 on saturday...

this is post 1280 and the last update until after i get home from work this evening.

You don't have to post the count, just come in and enjoy yourself.

The Saturday game is probably one or if not the biggest game
we will watch since the playoffs began.

Like James said the city will be humming.

Earlier in the thread we had a couple Cap fans posting, but they seemed to disappear.:(

Funny comment on the TV, some of us would tell you that at one time a 19" was standard and 25 " you were king.:D Hey Mom sure is getting her monies worth with that purchase.:)

Some new flyers news here: for those interested (probably just me :) )

Updates on Pronger, Jagr, Bryz et al

Interesting read, I'll bet many here will take a peek at it. I guess Pronger could have helped the boys if he was healthy, and the absence of Giroux certainly didn't help. The Flyers seem to have a good core of players, I think they will remain competitive in the next season.

I don't think there is any team playing at the moment that doesn't have banged up players.

The Devils just got hot;) at the right time.

As far as Jaromir Jagr, at the age of 40 I would also see how much bread I could rake in for my future retirement.

Well, I will be very disappointed if Jagr doesn't resign. There is stil a chance, I guess. All season he claimed he wouldn't make a decision until after the season.

He claims this was his fav year ever - but it may have just been talk, too. We'll see.

and it's a floor model...she keeps saying that she needs to get a new one. it loses sound about once an hour for 5 seconds and sometimes it will just turn off.

by the way, is it saturday yet?

Perhaps it's living in MI, where new moms are given sticks as they leave the hospital, but does anyone else find AZ vs. LA about as attractive as a carp left out in the sun for several days? I love the game, but if not for the Rangers / Flyers, I'd be watching the Tigers about now...

19" B and W with rabbit ears, two channels and grainy reception. Ahhh the good ole days when life was lived instead of watched and the news was reported instead of fabricated.

even at the ripe old age of 38, i remember playing with rabbit ears to get a better picture...thought we were living the high life when dad put up the antenna and hooked up the tv to it...the tornado hit on 5-31-85 and we moved into the new home on or around 1-4-86...cable came available then and i had gotten a brand new 13" tv for christmas for in my bedroom. much like leo dicaprio, i was king of the world.

Prediction: Many more people will watch LA/PHX than that Rangers/Flyers series. :D

Although I have cable, I also have a set of rabbit ears($6.99 standard, amplified antennas are a waste of money where I live) attached to my TV just in case of cable problems (which is rare).
I can received 24 channels OTA (over the Air) free of charge and that includes about 5 which are in HD. In fact the HD has a better picture than coming in through the cable, just a little better. The signal is direct without going through cable modems etc.

I am also located on the top of a hill and not very far from the broadcast towers.

GO RABBIT EARS
Very informative site about antennas http://www.antennaweb.org/
