Its a reality show. Someone dreams this stuff up, looks up agreeable people doing what they like, like those alaska flying companys, gold miners, and the troopers. Everyone likes their 5 minuets of fame and publicity. The patrol, game wardens etc, all their departments love the free PR they get so the producers of these things probley get the actors for free. Low production cost, probley get a fortune selling it to the networks. Everyone is happy.
By the way about two weeks ago there was a reality show of three guys playing mountain man crossing the tetons and snake river. I had just watched it and several days later theresa and I was doing lunch at chili`s resturant here. The main guy on that show walked in to meet a girlfriend and they were there to watch it again. I asked him how he got to do the show, and his words were, "They found me." I take it he is a local guide near us that is into the mountain man thing. He was a nice guy to talk to. I belive that show was also put on by national geographic. It was kind of neat watching it again with the main guy and his GF. Forgot his name though. He was the tall skinney most knowledgable on that show.
Yeah it is Nat. Geo's film crew following the troopers around.
Those guys up in Alaska sure have to cover alot of territory
with no back-up or it is very far away.
