Default Never dull?? is it safe to use on blue finish

Just cleaned my rifle barrel and receiver with never dull. I lightly applied a thin coat of never dull and it removed a ton of tarnish from a rifle I just bought. It was used and sitting for about a year in the gun shop, and had a lot of grime. After I used the never dull I wiped the gun down with a rag and then applied eezox. The gun looks a ton better and has a nice luster now. However I saw something that said never dull is bad for blue finish.

What is the proper cleaning for blue finish, is there an oil preferred or a cleaner? Is there anything I should be concerned about now that I used never dull on these guns?
Thanks

Contrary to what some will tell you, never use any product which is claimed to be a "Polish for metals" on a blued firearm. No matter what the brand-name, Nev'r Dull, Mothers, Flitz, SimiChrome, etc, these are all abrasive to varying degrees. Any of these will polish (wear) off the bluing in very short order as all are harder than the Iron Oxide which is what the bluing is. DO NOT use any of the "Lead remover" cloth products, these are very abrasive.

Use soft flannel patches and solvents, nothing else. Even cotton flannel is abrasive to a minor degree and will wear the bluing over time.
