Anybody else wear a copper bracelet?
I've been wearing a copper bracelet now for almost twenty-five years. I started wearing one after I got bucked off a three-year old colt and kicked in the leg on the way down. Broke the leg. Even after the leg healed and I was out of the cast, I was limping around a bit, especially early in the morning or when the weather turned cold.
An old cowboy told me about wearing copper. I started doing it, and lo and behold, I wasn't limping as much. Even my wife noticed it. Maybe it's psychosomatic, but I don't care. It seems to work.
It used to bug me about how it turned my wrist green, but as that old cowboy told me, "That's the poison gettin' sucked out!"

I have a braided leather bracelet with a wound copper core. Old golfer's tale of taking away aches and pains. I'm not totally sold on the results but many swear by it. The up side is there's no green staining from sweat.
There was one other time when a copper fitted me with a bracelet, but that's a story for another time and place!

I don't...
I don't wear one, but would a little copper being absorbed through the skin help arthritis? Who knows? Maybe.
I draw the line at wearing magnets in my shoes.

I've been wearing a sterling silver bracelet for 25 yrs. I tell people it's a medical bracelet that says, if found insert 12 pack. HAHAHAHAH!
A friend gave it to me. I still have the bracelet and the friend.

My oldest boy has a couple of doctor buddies who are also avid golfers. They both claim they wouldn't have a backswing without one.

I have in the past. I was an absolute skeptic and gave absolutely no credence to the claims that they help arthritis. On a trip my hands were really bothering be and I thought I would buy one based on the claims of others, but fully convinced that there was no possibility that it would help. Guess what, even totally unbelieving IT DID! At least enough to know I had some degree of relief.
Try one, at least a cheap one, they are only a few dollars and it just might help. Only you will know if it helped you, and if it doesn't you aren't out much.

I'm afraid my magnetic personality would affect the bracelet and make me walk in circles. Besides, I'm such a klutz I'd probably hang it on something and wind up with one arm five inches longer than the other.

It's a scientific fact that copper is an excellent conductor of electricity. That means it will attract lightning. To avoid lightning, wear a rubber necklace. Adding garlic to the necklace will repel the vampires (and women). To offset the garlic smell you place cinnamon sticks in your nose. All together this is uncomfortable, but it might help your arthritis. For real relief you need my special ancient incantations which I will provide in return for a generous donation.

Years ago I read a brief synopsis of a research paper written on the effectiveness of copper bracelets. As I recall, the moisture in your skin reacts with the copper to produce a mild analgesic. In other words, even scientists believe it works.

One time, years ago, I rubbed a wart with a chicken liver and buried it under the back porch and the wart went away. Chicken didn't fare too well as I recall.

I tried one and I couldn't tell that it helped. If someone thinks it helps go for it. I have found that the best way to keep my arthritis from bothering me is to eat a lot of ice cream and watch TV. Larry

I find that standing on one leg provides some temporary relief from the pain of arthritis in the other. It's important to change legs frequently and not plan on going anywhere. You put your left foot in, you take your left foot out...

As Koz often says, "Never let the unvarnished truth stand in the way of a good story."
Good advice for us all on this Forum, too!
And just so I won't be accused of thread hijack, might I observe that with the price of copper these days, I would be loath to wear a copper bracelet without also carrying my trusty 4513TSW readily accessible to the opposite hand?

Copper bracelets , crystals , rabbits feet , charms , amulets , pendants , medals , relics , etc all work magic.
According to the huckster selling them!
Another old tale was that a copper penny in each shoe was supposed to alleviate foot and/or leg pain.

Well, at least the "rabbits feet" don't work
just look how much they worked for the rabbit

In 1982, the composition of the cent was changed to 97.5 percent zinc and 2.5 percent copper (copper-plated zinc).

In my 72nd life I was captured by Thessalonians and chained in copper handcuffs. As I recall my wrists were the only thing that didn't hurt while being dragged behind the chariot. They did turn my wrists green.

It's OK, Mr. T. That gold look served you well back in the day.
Face it. If it had been copper, you'd have been struck by lightning bolts more times than you could count. And then, where would the A-Team have been?

Copper has antimicrobial properties... you ever wonder why door knobs are mostly made from copper and brass?
"While it’s never been proven that copper can be absorbed through the skin by wearing a bracelet, research has shown that excessive copper can result in poisoning. This can be seen after ingesting foods boiled in copper vessels or from contamination of water from corroding copper pipes, causing vomiting and, in severe cases, liver damage. In reality no modality of treatment has been shown to cure or reverse the changes of arthritis."-UAMS

How much Copper content does some from around 1900 have? I have several but-dont know if I should use them for fear of corroding them.

I used Silversulfadiazine (SP?) a number of years ago because I had severe chemical burns on my skin. It was the only ointment product out there that worked. Anyway, it had I THINK 15% Silver in its make up? or something around that--and worked wonders. It was also (w/ my current insurance) $200 a tube.

My Mom wore one and said it made her arthritic fingers quit hurting. It don't seem to work for everyone. But for some it does. It may be "all in the head". But if it makes things quit hurting who cares?

Sure it is. Ain't you never seen/read X-Men? Magneto, with his "power of magnetism" can control ALL metals.
Therefore all metal is magnetic. Stan Lee and Marvel Comics say so, and they wouldn't lie to me.

My aluminum foil cowboy hat is not subject to no magnets. It protects against many things including magnetic waves.

I had a small piece of copper(9mm diameter) inserted in my leg once. Hurt like the devil!
Maybe I should try the bracelet?

I had holes in my shoes, and during wet weather, my socks would get wet. Somebody told me to put cardboard in my shoes, and I did. It didn't help my prostate cancer one bit. You can shove your home-spun remedies.

So I guess you don't want to know my trick for improvising a leg cast from a tube sock and a box of blueberry muffin mix.

Interesting. It's long been thought eating blueberries was beneficial. Wearing them as bandages/poultices is much more effective. Witness this concussion victim wearing a blueberry waffle remedy.

Don't tease us. We want to see the rest of the sequence of photos, where your little fella snaps his head backward, flips the waffle into the air, and catches it in his mouth...
Apologies for the thread drift.

Copper is well known for increasing the risk of going to jail, as in "you got me, copper".

But most of our medicines has come from "home-spun remedies"!
I've always had an open mind and I don't think in a box. If I want to find out if something is true or false I do the research.
Many times hearsay evidence has many half truths and people repeat many false statements without knowing the facts!
We have a "medicine" that is being rediscovered by today's research labs and it was first known to have been used in Eastern Asia in 2727 B.C...

NO. I got a piece of copper placed under my skin quite a few years ago; it was about.320 in diameter, and had a copper jacket on it.
It did not do SQUAT for arthritis, other than maybe will contribute to some in the future..........
FWIW, I did not keep this piece of copper in my skin to be absorbed any longer than I had to......
