Just wondered what other folks think about Ted and his Spirit of the Wild show if you've ever seen it.

I've never seen the show but I like what Ted says. I just wish he would temper it with some maturity and forget the F-bombs.

i love it, and i feel his F-bombs are justifiably placed...

The show is informative enough, and the ammo he puts out for hunting is top notch.

Have not seen this show, but have seen a few of his others.

As far as his 2nd Amendment passions, I agree with his message, I disagree at times in how he presents it. On one hand he can be mature, sane, informative, and persuasive. On the other he can be immature, crazy, outlandish, and objectionable.

He also has a bit of past history that is questionable by myself and many others of my generation (I'm from SE Michigan and know the whole Nugent history).

He's an entertainer, and he does a lot of good things, so I will give him credit for that. But sometimes it's difficult to balance the good with the wrong. However, I strive to separate the man from the message.

I saw Ted play his "Great White Buffalo" tour in 1975. Does that count?

I was there too, my hearing hasn't been the same since!

I like the show, he's well spoken and seems passionate about our cause.
And it is OUR cause, we don't need the Dick Metcalfs and Jim Zumbos spouting doublespeak for the Brady Campaign to use against us.

I forgive him for being over the top sometimes, he stays on topic.

Since you're southern Indiana it may well have been the same concert. Opened in Cincinnati for Santana and Skynyrd?

^^^^

Nope - Roberts stadium in Evansville.

I woulda' been easy to spot, skinny teenager with long hair and a hand rolled cigarette hangin' off my lip. Wait a minute.... that was everybody at a Ted Nugent concert in '75!:D

Like Ted, like his show. Like has been stated, he is sometimes way over the top on getting his message out but in my opinion it is a reflection of his passion for what he does. His charity, especially for kids, is more than any Hollywierd movie type can even dream of doing.

As far as his past, good or bad, there is a ton of flat out made up lies. The liberal establishment has a giant hatred for Uncle Ted, thus the meaning behind his comment about "being dead or in jail" if BHO won the election. They have already tried twice to make the "in jail" part happen.

Was the fact ( out of his own mouth) that he avoided going to Vietnam by peeing and pooping in his pants "made up"? Yeah, maybe TED lied.

Was the fact that he went after little girls ( married a 16 year old, and 13 year old's he loved) made up? That sure is "charity for kids" huh? Maybe the marriage certificate was fake.

Was the FACT that he slaughters animals and calls it a "Hunt" made up?

Don't get m going on this spineless loser scumbag. Any of you with young daughters who think so highly of him... let them spend a weekend.

This LOSER is no spokesman for law abiding gun owners. Or anyone with morals for that matter..,,

Over 56 THOUSAND Dead in Vietnam, while loud mouth, self acclaimed Bad a** loser sat home in comfort?
He is about as popular as Jane Fonda in my circles.

I am decidedly NOT a fan of the 'motor-city madman', his show(s), or any of his other self-promoting nonsense. The term 'has been' comes to mind.

Thanks for all the replies. For me I just don't know what to think of him most of the time. As far as the show itself goes - to me it just seems.....sloppy I guess. It doesn't fit with the other shows before and after it and comes off to me as some sort of public access channel thing a couple dudes made with some portable camcorders. He comes across as being incredibly full of himself too which rubs me the wrong way. The show doesn't "fit" with the rest of the programming to me.

That's about as nicely as you could have described him. :D

He's certainly full of something...

Seriously, I'm a lifelong gun owner, I have a CCW license and carry any time I step out of my apartment, and I hunted until I became physically unable to do it anymore. I don't think Nugent represents me or most gun owners worth a damn in the eyes of the non-gun-owning public, with his posturing, off-the-wall rants and obscenities.

'Anchors away' CD. I saw too many burials at sea in 'Nam, to give that scumbag a pass. Funny how many draft dodging rich guys are at the top rung of the NRA these days.

So he's a rock n roller. So what? He's lived the lifestyle, that includes lots of sex with women he didn't know. He didn't want their I.D. If the little cuties are at a concert trying to "meet" the band, that's their parent's fault. By the way, musicians of all walks have been that way for a long time. He's loud and obnoxious. He also cares about our issue, and doesn't care how he rubs his enemies. I don't have a problem with that.
