Just wondering, anyone here remember an oldish Western tv series starring Rory Calhoun? Reason im asking is ive heard of it but never seen it and was wondering if its a good series to collect? Walmart has the entire series for sale this week, as well as Branded w/ Chuck Connors. I already seen some Branded as reruns decades ago and remember it was good enough-so I bought it, but will wait n see what yall think about The Texan.

Nothing bad, but nothing terribly special. A half-hour show on Monday nights at 8PM. I remember Calhoun's Colt was dubbed in to make a thunderous BOOM while his opponents' guns would make a much lighter sound. I'd have no interest in a boxed set. Other series, such as The Untouchables and The Twilight Zone, have more dramatic performances by later famous actors.

Thanks a much. I just got back from WM, and they were sold out but are supposed to have 4 more sets of the series in by Thursday. I think there are 70 episodes-and for $20-not bad. Also, I noticed that the Richard Greene Robin Hood series is back on their shelves again--all 140-something episodes for two sawbucks.

I need more seasons of Rawhide, Tales of Wells Fargo, Have Gun Will Travel, Cheyenne and Bat Masterson. Cracker Barrel Restaurant got me started on those but, no other local shop sells them.

When I was a little **** stain before I started school, I would watch it every day in reruns, or so my mom said. I remember liking it and only recall one scene. But you can check it out on you Tube first.

Wyatt-

Wow! That was pretty good. Thanks! I vaguely remember that I liked that show, but was so young then that I couldn't recall it much.

You don't see cigarette ads now, and I don't smoke, but the ads were more intelligent and less irritating than most seen now. I like the actor. He was one if the better Western stars.

I'll probably look for more episodes.
