Just wondering if any board members, family members or close friends have used cannabis oil, and if so, for what ailment and what have the results been?

I was talking with my soon-to-be pharmacist daughter if they had talked it in any of her classes, and she said they did mention it some.

One of my neighbors is a retired head nurse of surgery. She uses the cannabis lotion for aches pains of arthritis and another oil product under her tongue for anxiety and general nervousness. She swears by the benefits that she receives. My wife is thinking about trying it for her tension caused migraines. .....

A friend’s wife swears by it for her arthritis. And I’ve heard enough first-hand from others to be convinced that it works, especially for neurological conditions and pain.

I wouldn’t mind trying it for certain medical issues I have, BUT that ain’t gonna happen until after I’ve signed the last form 4473 of my life, which hopefully is still a ways off ;)

If you're talking about what I think your talking about it's not CANNABIS oil, it's Cannabidiol oil. Or hemp oil. It comes from a plant related to Cannabis but doesn't have the THC....the chemical that makes one high. I believe it's legal in all 50 states but not sure on federal level. Probably not!

My wife has been recently started using it for pudentil nuralga sp and it helps her get a good nights sleep She is going through stem cell trials that so far haven’t helped her Way too many narcotics that only mask the pain and also screws her up in so many ways Constpation sweating loss of appetite depression So far she gets a good night sleep from using CBD and we will take that

I have a friend that is a Medical Marijuana Patient because of severe back injury he had from a car accident as a teenager .. drunk hit him stopped at a stop light ..

He gets more relief from it then he does narcotic pain meds his old doctor use to prescribe .. he was totally messed up on them and now the difference is he is able to function with out taking the 15 pills a day he use to ..

Not for everyone but does help many who have tried it ..

In Oregon, I got some of that from a friend in a product called Budrub. I found it relieved — not totally, but mitigated — the pain in my knee caused by the lack of suffcient cartilage.

Here’ the website. Bud Rub Topical Medicinal Salve

While it will not make you high, I don’t think it is legal everywhere. Also, not for those of you who are drug tested for your jobs.

I think marijuana for pain relief, more widely prescribed, could help a lot in the fight against opioid addiction.

Honestly I wish pot was legal. It's so much better than just about anything anything prescribed. Most prescription medication has side effects which require other medication which have other side effects...etc...etc... And some are actually poison.

My dad takes clonazepam for anxiety. If you saw what it is and what it does you'd think this was created by doctor Mengele to test on concentration camp prisoners! It's habit forming and you can't take more than prescribed but it also looses effectiveness. You can't just stop taking it as the withdrawal symptoms can lead to death. Dependency occurs within 3 or 4 weeks. It can increase depression and I believe it is (although it's meant to treat it). It pretty much has side effects to everything, including breathing (sarcasm). Very VERY bad for the liver.
In children the long-term effects on physical and mental/behavioral development are uncertain and may not be seen until after many years. In many countries it's actually used as a recreational drug.

To ease anxiety he takes this pill. The pill builds up tolerance so it works less and the fear of having anxiety creates anxiety which leads to higher doses taken more often which leads to depression, and health problems

All that and pot is illegal! Give me a break! I've mentioned pot a few times to him but he's old school and back in the day when it was told him that it was bad .....so ...it's bad. Doctors can't be wrong they prescribe medication that helps. If a doctor told him that crack cocaine would cure something and he would listen.

So from this Clonazepam he's on half a dozen other drugs, which have side effects of their own. My dad is in his early 60s. I don't think he'll see 65. If he sees 70 I'll buy him a 50 year old bottle of single malt

All the medical marijuana support seems to be anecdotal*.
"My cousin lived next door to someone who's pizza delivery
boy knew someone who used it...".

Journal published, peer-reviewed studies supporting efficacy of MM...where are they?

*Gotta wonder how many supporters of MM are critics of
Marshall & Sanow, because "their evidence is anecdotal".
:D

If it doesn't have THC, the MM crowd doesn't want it. Look what happened in Florida, after the MM bill was passed...

When I lived in CO where it was legal I occasionally used it for neuropathy pain in my feet. I tried the oil and the smoke. But it worked wonders by giving me the only pain free hours in 10 years. Previously I had tried acupuncture, a chiropractor who said he might be able to help for $4,000, Lyrica, gabapentin, and tramadol. Now I just take tramadol and it is useless.

If MO ever wakes up I will be on it in a heartbeat.

Edit: I forgot to add that the oil tastes like ****. Unless you like the taste of lawn clippings.

I don't know about FL but CBD doesn't have THC. It has other properties that are the same as Cannabis but not the chemical THC. It's a related plant to cannabis but it's NOT cannabis

Hard to do a peer review when it's a class 1 drug.... in the same class as bath salts, LSD and Heroin. You can't do a peer review on those either. The few studies that are/were done shows it helps with pain, effective for people with cancer (not to cure), relieves stress, ...etc.. put it this way. It legal in most of Europe. I say most because I don't know the laws of every country

I am not very familiar with the over the counter oils but the five point leaf has been an acquaintance for most of my adult life. Four years ago, due to debilitating pain, it became my close friend.

I am not advocating its use to anyone but it takes the edge off and I can still do the NYT crossword with a Sharpie.

I have plenty of prescribed opioids but if I lean too heavily on them I burn through bibs.

I am glad I have access to it albeit via the underground.

My father has prostate cancer; it won't kill him but it will be with him the rest of his life. He takes heavy duty meds twice a year that make him miserable. He should be perscribed medical cannibas, but the state is still working it all out, and he won't take it illegally.

He lives in a old folks place where they check up on you, but don't do anything for you, just make sure you don't die in your room type of stuff. The whole place is filled with people that should be on pot. People waiting to die in pain. It's horrifying. my dad is 84 years old, has an appetite for food every other day, and is in constant pain. I'd be hitting up the busboy for ounces of pot. I offered to try to find some, but he won't do it.
