My New Jersey permit to purchase a handgun finally came through 62 days after completing the online application. This was 32 days after the 30 days under which the State must approve or deny the application.
Notably, in the four years since my last handgun purchase I had not committed any felonies, parking violations or anything in between. Perhaps that’s why my permit was approved so quickly.
But hey, what’s 62 days when what we are talking about is merely a Right that the Constitution says Shall Not Be Infringed.

On the deadly serious side, to a single mother living alone who can’t afford a lawyer and wants a gun at home to protect her family because she fears from a drug addicted and jealous ex-boyfriend — 62 days is an eternity.
