Waiting for New Jersey Permit to Purchase

I have a friend in NJ. Wait for a Firearms ID card. (once every 5 years now) Then wait for a pistol purchase permit (one per month). Then run to the gun store with your FID and permit only to find out you need to wait another +/- 7 days for the NICS check.
