Omega Seamaster Professional
I stopped by my local jeweler buddy’s shop to show him one of my
Piston ARs; he wanted to see the difference between piston and DI AR. While waiting for him to finish with a customer, I spotted this beautiful Omega Seamaster Professional Chronometer in the show case. Yada yada yada, I added this Omega to my growing watch collection. Came complete with box, tags, manual, warranty cards, etc. I really like my two Rolex submariners, but the build quality, especially the bracelet and machined clasp is much more robust than the Rolex for less $$$.

The Omega 2594.52 - the chronograph version of the 2254.50 Peter Blake Seamaster. Great watch. I had one for a while and gave it to my son. He loves it.

Great watch and you're just noticing what serious Omega owners have known all along.
Won't knock Rolex, they're iconic to horological history with the Oyster waterproof case, but a Rolex is never gonna be as good as an Omega in many regards.
Price isn't indicative of quality, Rolex intentionally limits the market to drive up the price, Omega never has.
The Speedmaster Pro is 10x the watch the Rolex Daytona could never be, just ask NASA. Seriously, there is a list of reasons it's far superior in comparison, which I'd be happy to cover if anybody is interested.
The Seamaster 300SM Broadhand is on my short list for next watch.
My Speedy Pro 1863 Hesalite Sandwich and my Speedmster Mk40 Cosmos Triple Date, actually my favorite of the two because of the complications, but nothing's more iconic than the Moonwatch.
Congratulations, I'm in awe!

Can the standard solid back be swapped out with a clear sandwich back that would take the pressure?

Yes, for some of the Speedy's, but might be a good idea to replace the gasket if you take the back off, here's the company and link:

Absolutely LOVE that “large scale alligator” band! I know next to nothing about this class of watch, but I know what I like to see! I also prefer a white watch face.

I wished they made a snap on back for the Mk40's and the 40mm size, but I don't believe they do.

My father in law gave me an older Seamaster that I wore for years while working building maintenance, I have destroyed watches over the years and that Seamaster took everything I dished out. I wore it with the original rubber strap. My wife gave me a Tag replacement which I still own, I gave the Seamaster to my son who was still wearing it last I checked, he is no longer working. Those watches were built like tanks and are anything but lightweight, I found it clunky on my wrist but learned early on to never take my watch off while working or as happened it gets lost. Leave it home or wear it.

I had an Omega Seamaster, plain model, just a date. Bought in the BX in France in 1962 for $65. Just a plain leather strap. Thought it was a great watch, but in 1970 while playing in the snow with my kids, it got water inside and stopped. Had it serviced, but would still stop occasionally. Took it back to watchmaker and they couldn't find why it still occasionally stopped. Tried several different watches until I bought a Rolex in 1975, (used from a good friend) wore it for many years, then went with a Tag Heuer Gold bezel Diver. Been happy with it for quite a few years now.

Traded a wood stove for a Colt SAA Black Powder Frame.
Traded the Colt for an Omega Watch.
Traded the Omega for a Walther PP and money.
Traded the Walther for money.
The stove, Colt, Omega, Walther and money - all gone!
But I’m still here!

Been wearing Seiko automatic dive watches for 35 years.
I'm a strong believer in the law of diminishing returns.
Besides one watch or a "bunch" of guns!
