The revolver was purchased at an estate sale and came bare - no box. It was so gummed up with some kind of lube the cylinder would not rotate. Cleaned up it shows very little sign of being fired with Very minor wear. I've yet to fire this particular pistol.
A thread posted by member Shrek made me dig out my 617 and I am now trying to find out a little more about what I have. Date my revolver please... CCC3087

What is the value on this gun is nice but not like new condition?
I ran across a 25-5 (.45 acp) today in a pawnshop with a non fluted cylinder. Looks like a replacement cylinder to me as it appears to be a duller blue that the rest of the gun..... But the guy is adamant that it is pure factory.
What do you think? truth..?

I have seen several references to the pinned sights going away with the Model 10-5. I know sometimes the pin is Very hard to see and I have seem people swear their sight was not pinned - until put under a magnifier.
Do any of the Model 10s come with non pinned front sights?
Seems to be some varying opinions among my friends...
If some are not pinned can you tell me when the non pinned guns started?

I am currently trying to find a nice 25-2 to use as a competition gun in ICORE and USPSA revolver class. I have run across a Pre 25 that looks pretty good to me but I am a total newbie to revolvers. Are there any downsides to the Pre 25? What ever gun I end up with will see a lot of usage and...
