    Info Requested on Russian S&W

Far from being an expert, I'd guess probably. Barrel catch doesn't match (s/n) and the triggerguard is nickled. Still...nice pistol. Nearly a twin to yours! I think your ivory stocks bump the value up a notch for me.

Anyone know who bought this gun?

    Info Requested on Russian S&W

Looks similar to mine... S/N of the above in the 48,000 range. "1874" in a box above the serial number on the bottom of the grip. Ivory grips are pretty sweet!

    44 S & W Russian ?

Yeah, my guess is 2nd model Russian back end, NM #3 front end. Wonder what the hole in the knuckle is/was for?

help identifying old S&W revolver grips

I think they're too small for the NM #3. Shame...I could use a pair (my pair has one side busted and missing a large piece). Nice looking grips. (My guess is they're right the DA model in .44 - I just measured mine and they're right at 3" tall).

    44 american

Yep, 3rd Model, first issue American. Serial number in the 2400 range (no oil hole). I got inspired and removed the trigger guard (springs look ok, thank goodness!). I have a punch that's .090" or so, but, too big to drive the pin completely through so I ordered a set of cupped punches from...

    44 american

I took my 1st model American apart for the joint pivot part discussion, but, reassembly was easy and went well. I have a need to get a correct length pin for mine for both the trigger and cylinder stop (or, just cut down the existing pins as they appear to be replacements and are a bit long)...

    My 'Ugly' American

Same position, different location on my 8" American. My 8" barrel has the addy (etc) more centered and located further back from the retainer screw. So...some other folks with comparisons will chime in, but, if the barrel marking being more centered based on barrel length, I'd say your pistol...

    New Model 3 Extractor Problem

Ha ha...roger that. My 3rd model Russian's screws are kinda hurtin'. Joint pivot and joint pivot screw, barrel catch screw especially. Also, butt swivel is missing the ring. The barrel catch spring/block might work for me too for my 1st model American. Plus the other stuff mentioned up...

    New Model 3 Extractor Problem

At least a replacement, given a mostly intact broken gear, would be a great starting point. That's a lot easier than starting from scratch! Geez, if folks are holdin'...I need a few parts...ha ha. Here's what: Model #3, First model American 44: a barrel catch spring. Considering trying to...

    New Model 3 Extractor Problem

Not bad for a point and shoot... The gear is missing a tooth which also looked like it spalled off part of the captive circle which holds the pivot arm in place. You have eight teeth, and, the correct gear has 9 (to fit in the rack, which has a place for that extra tooth). Might still be...
