Would you own an M&P22 For Self Defense?

No for me - yes for my wife. She just isn't comfortable with a larger cal. I told her if she has to use it (would be in the house) shoot three or four rounds to the chest, not just one.

    M&P v. Glock - My impressions.

I had a Kimber before I acquired my M&P 45. The Kimber was a pain in the *** to take down and clean. The M&P is so easy. I rented a Glock and M&P before I made a purchase. Liked them both, but Smith & Wesson was calling my name. I have since acquired the M&P 22 and 9mm. I compete with the 9mm -...

I need a little insight here....

The best thing about IDPA is how great everyone is toward each other, even new shooters. The other great thing is how one can learn with just about anything in a holster. Yes, the best of the best will enhance stock pistols and reload their own ammo to meet their specific specs. But most use out...

Not losing any sleep over a possible assault weapons ban

While I am not in the market for any assult type weapons either, I want the right to acquire one should I choose to do so. I want others to have the right. The bigger issue is rolling over for bullsh#t legislation that will do little to solve the problem and a lot to get in the way of solid...

    M&P 22 Barrel

I think it did. The barrel is so small, it was hard to see damage. Because the brush stuck and was a pain to get out, I took into my gun shop and asked. They looked at it and suggested sending into S&W - using the warranty. I looked at that brush several times to be sure it was for a 22. I...

    M&P 22 Barrel

I had used something else, not having a dowel handy. I will certainly use a dowel rod next time (hopefully there won't be a next time). S&W did not ask any questions.

    Pocket Carry

Depending on the pants / shorts I am wearing, I carry a 642 or Bodyguard 380. I prefer the 642 if I am wearing pants with a sturdy pocket. It is a little heavier, but I feel safer with a 38 special.

What revolver have you had the longest?

A Colt 45 revolver - a 1917 military model. Handed down from my grandfather to my Dad to me. It still works, but I retired it a long time ago.

Should I buy another handgun or get a rifle.?

I've had a Ruger 22 rifle for a long time and it's a lot of fun. However, I am a big fan of the M&P series. I am saving for the 9mm - thinking about competition shooting. If you have good places to shoot outdoors, then a rifle seems like a good idea.

    M&P 22 Barrel

I ended up sending this M&P to Smith & wesson via my gun store. In less than a month, I received it back with a new barrel - all under warranty. You can't beat service like that!!

    M&P 22 Barrel

I screwed up and have no idea what really happened. I shot my M&P 22 handgun this weekend for the third time. It shot beautifully each time. I took it home, disassembled it to clean. I first cleaned other parts before going to the barrel. I took the bore brush (clearly marked 22), put cleaning...
