lets see your in car setup

A retired police officer friend of mine, who now works for the FOP, says the best/easiest draw from seated in a vehicle is from the inside of the left ankle (for a right hand shooter). I don't have an ankle rig yet but that was his educated opinion.

Actually carried a fanny pack in public...

I was given a nice leather fanny pack some 10 years ago that fits my Sig P239 perfectly. I never wear it in public but often times have it open in front of the driver's seat when I'm on the road. When I flew from MI to CA in 2003 for my step-daughter's wedding I wore it just to carry my wallet...

If you had a 659 or similar S&W

The very first pistol I purchased in 1986 was a 659. It came with the 2 black nylon panel grips. I replaced them with synthetic ivory; they looked sweeet against the stainless. With the double stacked magazine it was handful, though, as they were considerably thicker than the originals. Wood...

FINALLY found my perfect ccw - Chiefs Special CS9

According to my handy dandy ruler my CS9 is 6 1/4" long, 5" tall from the top of the Novak sight to the tip of extended mag and 1 3/8" thick to the outside edges of the ambidextrous safety levers (the slide is only 15/16" thick). I agree, it's perfect for CC; lite/compact. I use the Bianchi...

    cs9 value??

Purchased my CS9 last fall from a co-worker who was retiring and moving to CA. I was with him when he bought 2 years earlier for $589 +tax. He put 50 rounds thru it and never fired it again. He sold to me for $360. I would have paid $500!

    Sig p239

The P-239 in .357sig has been my primary CC pistol for the past few years. Didn't care for the stock grips so it sports Hogue grips now. It is a bit hefty though. Recently purchased a CS9 with only 50 rounds through it from a co-worker who's retiring and moving to CA. Took it to the range a...

    Open Carry

Notice I said "I think most people OC ...", since when do I need methodology to have an opinion? Bob, you state: "I OC, and I don't do it to draw attention to the fact I can, but more to the point that anyone who can legally carry a gun can. I use it as an opportunity to educate those who...

    Open Carry

OC vs. CC Excellent discussion. As you can see I'm new to the Forum and I've learned quite a bit in the few days I browsed some of these threads. As far as OC vs. CC goes, I think most, not all, who OC do it just to draw attention to the fact that they can and may actually lose any...

    Favorite 9mm carry gun?

In 9mm, my new CS9. I have other C.C. calibers but the CS9 is smaller and lighter than the Kimber Pro Carry or Sig P239 I've carried in the past.

    Coming full Circle

Purchased a S&W CS9 this past week from a co-worker who's retiring this month and moving to California. He didn't want to take his pistols with him so I was offered both of his handguns cheap. My first pistol after leaving the military in 1984 was a S&W Model 659. I really miss that gun. I...

    Bought me a S&W 5906!

Welcome Cups71. My first pistol in 1987 was one very similar to yours. Mine was a 2nd Generation Model 659. Loved it! So will you.
