    Speaking of Outhouses, again.

Standard outhouse equipment when I was a kid. 😀

    Wasp Problem

A yellow jacket is the insect equivalent of a Chihuahua with a switchblade knife. They are much more aggressive (in my experience) than paper wasps.

Post a Picture of a Traditional Pocketknife

One of these was my edc during high school, back in the 1960's when it was basically assumed that there was a knife in every boy's pocket. I still have it in a drawer somewhere.

How far will a 9mm bullet travel?

The time it takes for a falling body to travel a distance d is the square root of 2d/g, where g is the acceleration due to gravity (about 32.2 feet per second per second) . Assume your pistol's bore is 6 feet above the ground, then when the bullet is fired it will take about 0.61 seconds to hit...

    Two Yard Sale Model 37s

My dad still has the 20 gauge Winchester Model 37 that I used back in the 1960s. As I recall, the extractor is broken (it won't kick the shell out like it did when new) but otherwise it's in good condition.

Do You Have A Heirloom Gun Given To You By Your Dad

I have a mid-1960's S&W Model 36 that belonged to my grandfather. My dad, who just turned 90, gave it to me a few years ago. It had been shot very little, if at all. I have taken it to the range a couple of times and shot it with my son, who will eventually own it. Dad's youngest brother, who...

The elusive M&P 357sig Full Size

The NC Highway Patrol is switching from .357 M&P's to SIG P226 (North Carolina State Highway Patrol Selects SIG Sauer P226 in .357 SIG - American Rifleman). If 1,800 P226s are coming in, then there should be a lot of M&Ps going out (to the used market?).

    what gives....?

This question has come up quite a few times in this and other forums, and I think the consistent answer is that the slides are still stainless, S&W just doesn't stamp them "stainless" any longer. My M&P 40 fullsize, bought in October 2012, isn't marked stainless, either.

    Removing Frame Tool?

Mine was hard to remove at first, too. I took it out and sprayed some silicone spray on it before replacing it, and that helped a lot.

    New M&P owner

I took the tool out and gave it a good shot of silicone lubricant before I replaced it. That made removing it next time a lot easier.

Say hello to my new friend...Model 36

Very nice! I have one of just about the same vintage (serial # 550xxx) which belonged to my grandfather. Can you use the speedloader with the standard stocks (grips)?

    Let's talk hearing protection

So do I, except first I remove the hearing aids from both ears. (That's a hint for you young guys; once your hearing is gone, you can't get it back. Take care of it while you have it.)

    Bought my first gun...Big question!

Here's something to read while you're waiting: http://www.corneredcat.com/contents/ The information is good for any gun owner (especially new ones).

New 9FS backstrap tool wont release

Mine is very tight, too. I had a hard time removing it today, but once it was out I sprayed a little silicone lube on it so maybe next time it will be easier.
