That's what's my thinking was. Since I'm not a collector, but a shooter, I picked it up since it looked like it had not been shot, or very little, the price was acceptable, the lettering is even, uniform depth and I didn't have a 4516. So I'll go shoot it and have fun....

Winter/Summer My summer carry pistol is a 3913, and in winter I switch to a 1066.

I likewise carry a 1066 in the winter. Summer I carry a 3913. Fantastic guns.

At a local gun store today I saw a 4516-2 that had a bright shiny slide with a large 45 Auto lettering on one side and a large spelled out Smith and Wesson on the other side that took the full length of the slide. Haven't seen one like this before, and was wondering if this was factory or not...

It has the standard white three dot. The 1076 I have for sale locally has factory nites, but they are dim. Bill, the 1026 will be shipped overnite the day the mo arrives (except the weekend-don't want it sitting at a UPS site waiting for delivery). Dave
