I use powder on mine. Talcum, baby, Gold Bond-they've all worked fine Have to reapply once or twice a month.

Instead of waiting for a big, wet root to dry out, use a torch with mapp gas(unless you have acetylene handy). They do cut better when not so wet. Or, in case you didn't notice already...get a good blade:D

My vote would be for the AR's as well. Great fun, good ammo availability/price, and so versatile. Many leaders in our government don't want us to own them and they are the ones who will work to appreciate your investment in the future.
