Shield .45 back at the Mother Ship

Sorry to hear about your handgun. I really want to trust the 45 shield enough to carry it off duty. It’s a flat and accurate gun that shoots so mildly for its size and caliber. Unfortunately, it seems some of these problems are surfacing after several hundred rounds. I’m trying not to be overly...

    Praise for my Shield 45

I’ve seen those. I meant the full size compacts...4 inch barrel double stacks.

    Praise for my Shield 45

So far, I’m really liking the 45 shield. It has the capacity in the 1911 range in a flat, light weight package. It handles recoil extremely well and has been both reliable and accurate. I plan to test it pretty hard and if all goes well, it will be my new off duty carry handgun. I’m considering...

    New 45 shield!

Thank you. There were some complaints about RSA’s and mag drop issues that were fixed with new mag followers. From what I gathered, even with the old followers the issue wasn’t wide spread. The issue was blown out of proportion on a different form. I momentarily let that spook me about my...

    New 45 shield!

Hello everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve been on a forum. I recently picked up a new 45 shield. My plan was to possibly start carrying it off duty. I admit, I almost had buyers remorse shortly after I bought it because I made the mistake of reading complaints about it before actually...

    Shield RSA

Thanks, I appreciate it. After looking at again closely, it's defective for sure. It happens. I'm sure they'll send me a replacement.

    Shield RSA

I purchase a new shield not too long ago and the recoil spring assembly is bothering me. It's hard to explain but it will only compress when the coils are orientated a certain way. After I field strip it, I have to keep rotating it in order to find the sweet spot so it will go back into the...

    New shield/S&W customer service

I picked up a new shield 9mm at a fantastic price. Someone had it on layaway and never finished paying. It came with an aftermarket finger extension that as purchased by the person who put it on layaway. Long story short: I'm not a fan of the pinky extensions, the essentially make the magazine...

Why doesn't the M&P have a "felt" reset

I'll pretty much repeat what others have been saying already. I can feel and hear the trigger reset on my 40c. It is not as pronounced as the reset on my Glocks but I assure you...the only time you'll actually notice it is at home or in the gun shop. I think the M&P triggers have a bad rap...

    I finally picked it up!

Thanks! I think it's the perfect size...you can make a smaller gun bigger but you can't make a bigger gun smaller. I took a picture with the mag in with the finger rest. The full size mags should be in on Monday (I ordered a few of those).

    WHAT A BETTER ROUND?

I was referring to what I know to be used by some agencies/dept's. I still believe the .45 does better with the 230 gr load even if it's not +p. Unless I'm mistaken, I think Remington golden saber loads are pretty warm in their standard pressure and come close to other manufacturer's +p...

    WHAT A BETTER ROUND?

In my opinion with the .45 acp, using the heavier 230 gr would be a better choice. The agencies that I know of that use the .45 tend to favor one of the several 230 +p jhp's that are available and seem to be happy with their performance.

    Porting a Full size 40

My personal opinion is I'm not a fan of porting on a handgun that will be used in a defensive situation.

    New Bodyguard & Hickock 45

Most modern firearms are reliable. The majority of failures that I have seen, regardless of manufacturer, is due to aftermarket parts. Leave it stock and it will be fine. I know several people with hundreds of rounds through their bodyguards with zero problems. The handguns in the video have...
