    642-1 cleaning

    I also found out hard way, don't use Hoppe's #9. It will strip the finish. S&W replaced my 638 and then asked that I not do that again!

    Retirement present, a S&W Model 36;

    It always amazes me, but many officers have never shot a revolver! When I started, we had model 19's, then transitioned to Sig P226. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    Want to buy a 1974 model 27-2 pre lock

    Absolutely, yes. A 27-2 was made to fire, full power, .357 magnum rounds. All day. Every day. Period. Fred Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    (WTS) Walther PPK/S .380 Blue - SPF!

    I have a Walther PPK/S .380, that I think, is a little unusual. It is made with Walther/Interarms parts and pieces but built in the Smith&Wesson plant. It is marked "Made in the USA" by the Walther USA LLC., Springfield MA. There is no mention of S&W on the hand gun. It also uses the frame...

    Is a 4" 686 too large for occasional carry?

    I often carry larger frame handguns. I'm not real fond of shoulder holsters. I think they create another whole set of issues. But what I started doing was wearing suspenders under my shirt. Wear a t-shirt, pants with a belt and an OWB pancake or avenger style holster, then a camp shirt or knit...

    19-2 that won't be mine for long

    That is amazing! I know a lot of "Young" (like under 30) that have never shot a revolver. Much better than a hunk of plastic.

    Model 27-2 info request

    Is there a receipt for it in your Grandfather's stuff? That would tell you were he got it from and probably where S&W shipped it to, some people here are getting real fussy about ordering a letter from Mr. Jinks if there is no great mystery to start with.

    Model 19 Christmas

    The grips on the 19-3, look early. I don't see a football cut. Is it just the lighting? Beautiful guns, I really love the M19.

    Recent acquisitions:M29-2 and 19-2

    I recently picked up a couple of new revolvers. A nice shooting grade Model 19-2, 4" bbl, ser#K682534, I found at a local gun show The blueing is kind of bloctchy, but it shoots great! I also found a M29-2, 6.5" bbl, ser#S270065 with some tools and the end of the original cardboard box at my...
