Hi all, I'm looking for a bunch of high resolution photos to use as my desktop backgrounds (my PC is set up where they change ever half hour). I'd like photos of the following S&Ws, all current-production guns: Model 17 Masterpiece Model 18 Combat Masterpiece Model 63 5" Again, I'd like...

Help with a pronounciation (Sip it is Italian)

I know what it sounds like, just can't figure out how to put it into words. Maybe I should say, "ch" without the "ck" sound...:D To me, German is a much more straightforward language than English (as are Latin and many European languages). It's just the pronunciation that bothers...

Help with a pronounciation (Sip it is Italian)

True, I know that, but I'm wondering if you pronounce the "th" like "t" as in many other German words. I'm now certain that my uncle errs in saying "Walter", though.:D Speaking of German pronunciation, is "Koch" as in HK a German word? According to HK's US website it's pronounced "coke" (as...

Help with a pronounciation (Sip it is Italian)

Ih-talian.:) Here's some commonly mispronounced names: Heckler & Koch: the "Koch" is pronounced "coke" Uberti, Umarex: Not You-berti, Oo-berti. Umarex is the same. Walther: somebody help me out here. I've heard it as Walter, Walther, and Valter. Which is it? I know the second is incorrect.

Help with a pronounciation (Sip it is Italian)

Judging from the Benelli USA DVD catalog, it's "Frahnkee" (or "Fron-key").

^^Unfortunately, he's right. Here in the USA we have the moronic 16/26 rule... I wish it'd change to either/or, but not both. Do NOT go within ten miles of said 10" bbl gun if it has a shoulder stock.

    Help me...

I'll have to convince my library to buy it. I wish I could remember the arguments I used to get them to purchase the Flayderman's and the Shooters Bible.

    Twain....isms

"If It Weren't for the Honor of the Thing ... ... I'd rather walk." Supposedly that's the punchline of joke Abraham Lincoln used to tell about a man who was tarred, feathered, and ridden out of town on a rail.

    Help me...

...find a resource of some sort that has in one place ALL new firearms introduced each year, because I keep missing neat guns and only discovering them eight months after their introduction. For example, the Smith & Wesson M&P22: I was searching RimFire Central for info on the P22Q (because I...

    M&P 22 arrived

This might be the wrong thread to post in, but I didn't want to start a new one with my single piece of info. I emailed S&W yesterday before joining this forum asking a few questions about the M&P22, esp. about the lack of interchangeable backstraps, and here's the reply I received: "As far as...

How about some Twain on Guns?:D GUNS The Southern communities are just as peaceful and religious as the Northern. The Southerner may be more highly cultured, and anything he does is naturally conspicuous. Carrying a revolver is a fad, just a fad or a fashion; but the revolvers are mightly...

New guy here, please don't eat me...

Rain? I seem to remember something called that, but I think it's extinct.:D When the mesquites and pecans start dying, and when people start baling corn stubble, you know you're in a drought.:( Thanks for the welcome, guys!:)

WATERMELON It is the chief of this world's luxuries, king by the grace of God over all the fruits of the earth. When one has tasted it, he knows what the angels eat. It was not a Southern watermelon that Eve took; we know it because she repented.:D
