That's interesting, I have two shields bought this year, one with a May date and one with a July date. The July build, the pin for the trigger hinge appears to be set too deep on the trigger which then protrudes on the right side of the trigger enough to be felt. The May build is flush on both...

I had a two-tone pro 5" 9mm with the apex trigger kit and it was great. Had well over 2k rounds through it without a hiccup. Nice pistol, but didn't really have a use for it so I swapped for a like new 3913 which became my edc.

Their QC must be suffering a bit lately. When I bought my shield this week the store had another brand new 9mm shield there, 9mm barrel, 9mm mags, box said it was a 9mm...the slide? That said 40.

I'll second using grease on the rails and slide rather than oil. That along with running a few hundred rounds of ball ammo made it run 100% on any ammo I feed it.

For the "E" pistols, yes, that's correct. Your statement "Previous S&W 1911's were manufactured in Massachusetts." is what I was referring to. Prior "non-E" pistols started in Springfield, but were subsequently moved to ME also. That's the point I was clarifying.
