I have a department marked gun with 3" and big black grips-I think gun is square butt as I recall but factory barreled 3" May have been an FBI gun given to some small department as is marked JCPD as I recall.

I had several Daisy BB guns-best was M25 with good peep sight and shot hard. Dad got me a sears clip feed 22 at about 12.
My first S&W was purchased in about 1962 or 63 from a friends friend who was an FFL-it was a M 35! It cost me $77.00 or so. I sent it in for tgt trigger/hammer and grips...

I know how to do the takedown/reassembly probably without leaving any evidence and I have the tools,and know the ropes there. The reply about just keeping unassembled guns the way they came is the way I have been looking at it too, and I am glad I held off. They are probably unfired...
