+1 on Frog Lube. You heat the gun up and then apply liberally to the entire gun. Wipe off any excess and let it dry. After that, all I do is wipe it down and run a BoreSnake through it from time-to-time.

I have a 5" Pro Series and it definitely needed a trigger job. Although S&W claims the Pro Series guns have better triggers, they are still not very good IMO. I went with the Apex Competition Kit and it is a dream.

Sounds normal to me. You must either manually release the slide lock or rack the slide to return the slide into battery.

If you have the new sear housing you shouldn't need the Apex RAM. My FS with new housing has a better reset than my 5" Pro with old sear housing and Apex RAM.
