    Another Model 41 question

The factory spring is 7.5 lb. it would not work with CCI sv. a 7lb. Wolff does and cycles flawlessly.... Jim

    Another Model 41 question

I too have a new one and after two barrels that were bad I had it lined at Ten Ring Precision. now it shoots good but did not function, I changed the spring to a 7 lb. Wolff and it run well now. The other way to go is send it back to the shoemakers at S&W and they will keep it for 4-6months and...

    Still have 41 problems

Good luck with that, I sent one back and after 4months got it back with the same problem. Now I understand they are talking 5-6 months. I guess they will send you an estaminet and after they receive your money they will start the work. Keep in mind they are moving to Tenn. At this point I don't...

    My first 41

I have a bad experience with a new 41 it had a bad barrel and I sent it back to S&W after over 4 months they sent it back with a bad second barrel. The first barrel I shot 8 times and it key holed every shot and the replacement barrel had two lands that didn't make the muzzle by a I/2". It is...

Good Grief S&W, Strike Three! (new Model 41 7") - see post #92

The new one's are button blanks on the 41..... but I must say of the two I've seen they are the worst barrels of any manufacture I've seen. Plus the crowns and chambers.... I have never saw workmanship this poor ever..... Jim

Good Grief S&W, Strike Three! (new Model 41 7") - see post #92

I really think they should close the doors because they are not capable of building match grade guns. I never had a S&W with barrels that looked this bad. Two in a row, my barrel is going to be relined by Ten Ring.... Jim

Good Grief S&W, Strike Three! (new Model 41 7") - see post #92

Well I got the 41 back with the new barrel and guess what two of the lands don't go out to the muzzle. I don't think they are capable of good work at this point, you are replacing a barrel and no one looked in it to see if it was good? Send it back for an other 4+ months to get what ever back...

Good Grief S&W, Strike Three! (new Model 41 7") - see post #92

I have or should I say I remember having a new 41, it has been at S&W repair for over 4 months. It had a bad barrel also, only had lands and grooves half way out the barrel. The trigger is junk, they never broke the edges and you need a box of band aids to handle it. It never cycled in 8 shots...

    New model 41's?

My new 41 was a total joke, the trigger was bad, the barrel only had lands and grooves half way and sharp edges that would cut you. To top it off the serial# had a restamped last digit.... and I was told 6 weeks turn around and I called near the 6 weeks and an other guy answered the extension...

    New S&W quality

I just got a new 41 and the lands and grooves only went half way out the 7" barrel then a pilled up mess the rest of the way. A 1400.00 gun was key holding at 25 yds. and the trigger was terrible. My fault for not looking at but a 1400.00 need to see if has rifling? The store didn't want me...

    Wad cutters for Self Defense

You must have a terrible gun or bad reloads mine shoot great out of 2 and 4" model 10 S&W's. I could hit the middle of a 55 gallon drum at 20 yds.but you can only do it once because it bends it and it is laying on it's side with a big hole in it. But only after it was shot with a .357 and a 44...

    Wad cutters for Self Defense

I think you need to see the HBWC backwards in action, they are as good as or better stopper than a .45.... But what ever trips your trigger.... Jim

    Wad cutters for Self Defense

I think you need to see how much a HBWC. loaded backwards expands and the devastation it will cause. The big thing is low recoil and rapid recovery for the next shot. It will expend all it's energy in the target, not two rooms away or in the neighbors house.... Jim

    Wad cutters for Self Defense

Your dad was smart man, a 148 HBWC loaded backwards is the most lethal thing with 3.0 gr. of bullseye. In a 2" it will bend a 55 gal. steel drum in half and put a 1.5 hole in it. Jim
