I've got the 4.25" version with 17 round mags and I really like it.
When I run the El Presidente drill, I'm about a second faster with the M&P vs my 1911. With the Smith I can reach the mag release and the slide lock without shifting my grip, which allows the faster time.
I'm really digging...
I just press the slide lock with my strong hand thumb after a reload. My hands are big enough to do so. Now my 1911 on the other hand, I have to use my support hand thumb, as my strong hand thumb isn't nearly long enough.
Also, some of you folks are wound a little tight.

I just started reloading, and loaded up three test rounds with 230 grain Xtreme plated round nose over 5.5 grains of CFE Pistol at a length of 1.210".

As far as the safety goes, ride it. It keeps your thumb high and neutral so it's not putting pressure on your support hand. It also keeps you from inadvertently clicking it on accidentally under recoil.

I recently purchased a 4.25" model without the safety. I was originally going to get the one with the safety, as I'm used to carrying a 1911, but the safety seems to stick out a mile. Therefore I got the one without.
I really like it so far. I have no experience with any other models.

I was checking out the Wilson - Vickers Elite battlesights on Brownells. They look pretty nice.
I'm wondering if anyone has used them, and what your opinion was. Worth the money? Durable?
Thanks in advance.

Look closely at the picture in the original post. I don't see a firing pin indentation in the chambered rounds primer. It's a live round.

I used to compete in target archery for many years. I was taught to focus on the spot I wanted to hit, and let the pin blur and float.
Now that I have transitioned to pistol and gotten competitive in IDPA, plus carrying everyday, I have tried to switch gears and learn this front sight focus...
