When I did my class I used a six inch,1920's Colt new army :D I also obliterated the target after the required one hundred round course,you could have stepped through the hole in it.

Try the Beretta Pico it has an HK type paddle mag button.

Is it a blow back or locked breech? I ask because I had a FN and it's the one gun that I had malfunction in such a way that I was carrying a dead gun for a week... The commercial shells are way under loaded because no armor piercing rounds that being the case it can make the gun do funny...

My opinion and mine only: If you want to set it up for wilderness survival I'd suggest a fixed rear sight and a good solid front and learn to use that. If I recall you have the 2.75 M-66 right? You could still make hits at fifty but you'll need to practice and even with a four inch you need to...

You have to know your limit,I can fire off seven mid range .500 loads a day and that's it as my hands tingle and start getting numb and I know any more is asking for problems. Yes these handguns are a step above normal.

I didn't know what it's called but I know it's part of the firing mechanism,tighten it and maybe invest in some blue loctite (NOT red just blue you don't want to weld it on)
