Sobering discovery regarding micro auto

Dirty Harry Callahan;

Yes, goofy big cargo pants pockets are dripping with testosterone.

More so than skinny jeans or leggings, at least. But then again, I suppose that I am being a bit unreasonable considering that skinny jeans and leggings are effeminate by default, ergo pretty much everything including Kilts and Lederhosen are more masculine than they are.

But yeah, I'd say that cargo pants are manly, especially considering they're synonymous with Military/Law Enforcement.

Worse yet, doesn't the LCP have a magazine disconnect safety?
So if mag isn't seated fully... pistol won't operate

No, that the LC9s. (Excluding the LC9s Pro.)

Because kilts and Lederhosen are synonymous with Scottish and Bavarian warriors.

What are skinny jeans and leggings synonymous with? Hipsters and girls? :D

Precisely.

When I carry my LCP Gen 2 I carry it in a Remora holster on my waist. It never moves and I usually forget I have it on me.

Never had this issue with my Bodyguard 380's. I've been carrying them for almost 8 years in a desantis nemesis or an Elite nylon IWB. I can add that the Bodyguard switched to a metal mag release also. The older ones had a plastic mag release that weakens over time with the metal mag on plastic wearing it out causing mag drops.

My old Colt Pocket Ponylite would do that.
I hunted and searched until i found a company making stronger mag release spring. This solved the problem.

Maybe a kydex holster with a molded area over the release would keep this from occurring again? Or that J-frame also solves it.

So would my Colt Pocketlite, but only if I really pressed on it. Like the time I crawled on my belly in a cave and later discovered the mag had popped out.
I also solved the problem with a J frame.;)

A good reason to test your gear under reasonably realistic conditions to see if it works and if there are any weaknesses.

Generally, you don't want your holster covering the mag release. The only exception I could think of would be a rigid kydex holster that might offer some protection against inadvertent releases.

This is also one of the reasons (among many) I've been seriously considering the Beretta Pico for a pocket .380 as the mag release operates by pushing down, rather than in, like on HK pistols. Not sure if that would offer a benefit, but it is something I've thought about and, if I do get a Pico, it'll be something I'll test out.

I haven't had that happen with either my Bersa Thunder or my CS9. It never occurred to me that it could be an issue.

I was using a Mika for the Bersa and a DeSantis Nemesis for the CS9.

I posted about this problem w/my LCP awhile ago and thought it was mostly us lefties who had the issue. I ordered a pocket holster from Holster Pro that is thick leather and covers the mag button and it seems to have worked. That said I still prefer a J frame for EDC but circumstances sometimes dictate the LCP.

Carried a original LCP for 8 years or so in a Galco pocket protector. Never had the mag pop out. 2 or 3 years ago bought a LCP II. Couldn't find a Galco for it and wound up with a Talon leather pocket holster. I've never found the mag popped out of that either. I'm also left handed.

I've never had that happen with any gun I've pocket carried, latest is an LCP 10th Anniversary that I've used the factory pocket holster for the last 8 months everyday.

I forget how many years I have been carrying a Ruger LCP in a Desantis Pocket (sticky) holster in my front pocket. (Docker type shorts) no cargo shorts, Never had an issue.

Vedder Light Tuck Kydex holster. NO problems. They do make a pocket
holster also.

Be SAFE and Shoot Often!

This issue is one reason I pocket carry an updated version of the Beretta Pico with a paddle mag release. One caveat is that the Pico needs a snap cap when dryfired.

I've been pocket carrying my BG380 in a Desantis Nemesis holster for the past few years, and have never experienced that. Thanks for sharing. I'll keep an eye out for that.

Ditto. :);):)
