    New to me Mod. 19-4

Thanks everyone. I finally got it all cleaned up and ready to go. I'll find out how it shoots tomorrow. I don't think that wrench was ever used on the revolver. The screwdriver end on it is way too wide and thick to use on any of the screws. My guess is that the wrenches were just there so...

    New to me Mod. 19-4

Hello all, just wanted to share this new addition that I managed to snag just before Christmas. I stopped into my local shop on the way to work to check out the madness and see if anyone had traded in their silly old revolvers for a fancy new "assault weapon" and sure enough, there was a 4" 19-4...

    Any information appreciated Mod. 64-3

I don't have any of my reference materials at hand to give you a DOB or anything, but all the Model 64s I've had, as well as the ones I've cleaned up for friends, have been great shooters. Those older K frames are really nice. Best of luck with your new revolver.

    WTB: Model 640 Pro Series

I've been looking for one of these 640 Pros for a while now. Nobody seems to have any and my LGS can't seem to find a distributor that has any. Anybody have one they want to sell, or know of anyplace that has one for sale? Thanks, Steve

686 No Dash with Timing Off

I recently sent my 586-3 in for rebluing and they found a mechanical problem I hadn't noticed and they fixed it. It was listed on the estimate as a $45 charge but then they gave me a $44 "line item discount", effectively making the repair free. I get the feeling they don't usually let guns leave...

Ahrends grip feel: polyurethane vs tung oil

I had the poly finish bubble up on a pair of Ahrends grips after getting some cleaning solvent on them, so I stripped the rest off and refinished them with some tung oil. I liked it so much better that I have since refinished all my grips in tung oil. It feels more grippy in the hand but cover...

    586 back from factory refinish

The standard rebluing cost me $220 plus $14 shipping. I sent it in around the middle of August, got an estimate a little more than a month after that, and just got it back yesterday. The markings on the barrel are noticeably shallower now, since the barrel was really scratched up, but the...

    586 back from factory refinish

Well, after about two months of waiting, I finally got my 586-3 back from Smith&Wesson. I sent it in for the standard rebluing, as it looked like it had been dragged through a parking lot several times and left out in the the rain for a bit (I bought it really cheap as a project gun). Let me...

    Thinking hard about a 3" 24-3.

I picked up a nice blued one, no box or anything, a couple weeks ago for 675 and I love mine. Expensive to shoot but shoots great. It was the only one I ever saw and I had to have it. Good luck finding yours. Steve

    Advice on 327 pc...

I agree with the above. I love my 8 shot N frames but even at six feet and 220 they are not easy to conceal well, and with slim fitting clothes you can pretty much forget about it. They are just too thick and too large framed, and the 2 in. barrel, for me at least, only makes the butt end of the...

    Which 8 shot S&W ?

I would definitely go with the 627, especially if you are going to shoot 357s. I find the scandium guns kind of unpleasant in any size with magnums, but my 627 shoots fine with everything from 38 wadcutters to full bore 357s, and although it's heavy for a carry gun, with the right holster and...
