Took my S&W 1911 SC E Series Bobtail two tone out last Saturday. My son had a 1 1/2" group at 7 yards. I was all over the place. He's 23 and I'm 62. Guess the gun is accurate. It's beautiful too. So happy that I bought the gun. Now I just have to learn how to shoot it.
Saw one in a case three weeks ago at my LGS but it was their display model. Put in an order and I am 14th on the list with a selling price of $399.00. I can wait.
I tried the new S&W Shield at the nearby range today and after the first shot, the slide locked backed and the empty shell did not eject. The range officer said that since I am a lefty I probably hit the magazine release with my trigger finger and popped the magazine. Anybody else who is a lefty...
Call or email customer service at S&W.(See website). They will give you the best information they have regarding the pistol you are interested in. Be prepared to wait if you call later in the day.
Does anyone know of a good left hand holster for a S&W 1911SC E series pistol. I'd like to carry IWB if possible but I don't know if that is going to work especially if I want to tuck my shirt. Otherwise suggest OWB for CC in the winter months. Thanks for your comments.
Well I took my M&P .22 and put 125 rounds of Federal bulk and 20 rounds of CCI mini-mag through without a hitch. Problem solved. Plus I just got another magazine that I ordered two weeks ago today and I'm pleased as punch. Only waited since March for this to happen. Now I'm after a S&W 1911SC E...
What's wrong with my M&P 22?
Well, it finally got back here from Oct 16th and the paper says it was a damaged roll pin. They tested it out with high velocity ammunition and it's supposedly good to go. I'll find out tomorrow when I take it to the range. And oh, by the way, no extra magazine...
I purchased a M&P 22 in early October and took it out to the range. Shot about 100 rounds flawless. Noticed when I got home the pin on the slide right above the S&W insignia was protruding out about 1/4 inch. Knocked it back with a nail punch and took it out the following week. 100 rounds..same...
Last report from S&W customer service is that a shipment from Germany is coming in early November. Who knows how long they will last? My LGS says his distributor has 500 on order. See you in the spring.
Now you guys got me thinking. I was all set to plop down a deposit on this baby but with the finish issue a problem, I think I'll wait. Of course, with the demand backing up I probably won't see one for a good six months at which time the problem might be resolved. Or will it?
I have pretty much decided to put a deposit down on the SW1911SC two-tone but I am going to ask the shop owner to polish the slide stop and the ambi-safeties before I take delivery of the gun. That should take care of most of the problem, don't you think? It's such a beautiful gun but I probably...
1911 SC series E
Thanks for the picture. Are all the 1911's experiencing the same "blemish" problem or just a few? If I buy the pistol and have my gunsmith polish the slide stop and the ambi-safeties that should prevent the problem, right?
1911 Series E SC
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the frame or slide finish on the #108483 or #108485. It seems from the You Tube video I viewed and the Gunblast review that there is a tendency to scratch the finish. I don't want to spend the kind of money S&W wants and have a...
I did it!
I did it! I put a deposit down on the M&P 22. Dealer said one of his suppliers has 500 on order. I guess I'll see it sometime in December. That's all right. I have gloves.
