I have a set of Karl Nill grips for my S&W Model 638 and My S&W Model 41. Great fit and finish.

I had the same problem the OP is talking about with my Model 41. I changed out my extractor to a Volquartsen Exact Edge extractor and changed out my springs with Wolff Springs. I also cleaned all my magazines and the gum was given a good cleaning. So in the end it was the extractor and springs...

Aimpoint Micro H-1 was mounted on my Model 41 for years. It made it too easy for casual shooting so I took it off and only shoot open sights now. On my Ruger Mark III Hunter I have a Ultradot Match Dot. That also makes it too easy.
