Canted Barrels & poor machine work seems very common lately,my 686 is at there shop right now hopefully getting fixed for an over torqued barrel"canted" etc..its very up setting cause most guns are bought because of the name, reputation etc..From what i understand there Warranty dept.is...
I have never heard a bad remark towards Smith/Wessons warranty policy, everybody has told me they are top Notch! Sorry you had such a poor experience,i have a 686 there right now, hope they dont break it :(
bought a brand new Ruger SP101 in CA..went to the range, would not fire 1 round due to light striking..had to ship it out for repairs..came back in 2 weeks fixed, they would not not tell me what repairs were performed, this was 327 federal model.I am sure it was the firing pin being too short.
In California that gun is $900+ so i think its a good price. Offere what you want, the worst he can do is say no..But always offer cash if you plan on Negotiating.
Gotcha..
I am fairly new to all this,i ve got a 686-6 as my first revolver & love it.I am also trying to learn about what is collectible..i am looking to start my own collection, there are just so may great ones out there! Not sure where to start.
