It never ceases to amaze me at how surprised new SD VE owners are about the quality of these guns! Do they think, because of the low price, S&W is making a "cheap" gun? I wouldn't trade my SD40VE for anything...great gun.

I also have a Protec HP190 on my SD40VE and I'm very happy with it.

I practice at 20ft or so, for two reasons. First, my state law requires me to retreat from the threat if possible, IOW, if the threat was farther than that distance, IMO, I should be able to get away from it. And second, that's the distance in my home that I've determined to be the most likely...

I still have my SD40VE, and I wouldn't part with it. It's my HDW, I like how it shoots, how it fits my hand...I like it!

Has anyone used the Williams Gun Sight Firesight Smith & Wesson M&P Night Sights on an SD40VE? While shopping for TruGlo TFO sights, I came across the Williams sight and know nothing about it except that it's less expensive. Can anyone give me the "skinny" on these sights? Update: Sorry guys, I...

I had cataract surgery a while back and as result, I have great distance vision and not so great near vision. Therefore, I'm having trouble seeing a good site picture with my SD40VE stock sights. I can see well with reading glasses, but I don't want to waste time putting on glasses in the middle...
