Do you still have your first Sigma/SW/SD?

This is a question I asked over at glocktalk and got a quite a few responses. I am curious abut the longevity of the S&W "budget" line. Especially in the longevity of the polymer frames. I am seriously thinking about getting one as my first handgun. So with that, do you still have your first one?

Obviously new owners should post as well. Heck I cant even answer this because dont own one yet.

I can't speak for the other models but, I had an SW9M and it was the only Smith that I have owned that I was glad to be rid of. My first and last Sigma.

I bought a sw40ve allied forces edition used. Good looking handgun. I even got used to the long trigger. Unfortunately I had to sell it in order to get my first M&P. finances were tight at the time and I am not a patient person. Bought it for 400$. Sold it and a box of 50fmj for 425$. Then got a brand new M&P 40s&w full size.

Yes. SD9. Academy Sports had them on sale for $399 just prior to when the VE's replaced them. Been on the fence a few times on whether to keep it, but yes, I still have it. I've decided it's likely to become collectible (Smith probably didn't make nearly as many of them as they've made VE's).*

Just bought mine 8-2-2014. Have only shot 150 rounds through it so far. I have no intentions of letting it go; I seldom ever let firearms go-unless it becomes absolutely necessary! (Or it doesn't live up to S&W quality that I've come to expect over the past 30 years)

To put in perspective, I own a 1911, 5906, SD9VE, thunder380 and an LCP. I have these by choice. The one on my nightstand and that I carry with anything heavier than a t-shirt is the SD. Try to find another 9mm, striker fired, high capacity, lifetime warranty, American made pistol for $300.00. Just sayin'

Yes I still have my first two, bought about two weeks apart.

They are as reliable and rugged as the GLOCK platform they're cloned after at about 1/2 the price.

SD9VE had it about 16 months over 3000 rounds all my own hand loads never had a hiccup

I sold my sd9ve 2 weeks ago...just couldnt handle the trigger...promptly got a Springfield xd9 and I really like it...

Sold mine at the first chance I had. I could not get used to that trigger. I took the cash and bought a Shield in 9mm. I love it and carry it everyday.

i still got my sigma in 40 s&w. one of the first made. many rounds, mostly reloads. no problems. i put the galloway spring kit in and it dropped the trigger to about 6 pounds. for the price it is hard to beat. i call it my cheap priced glock. the sigma is one of the over looked guns going. they are rock solid but got a heavy trigger. i keep looking for used ones.

I had my Sigma for something like 12 years. The sear went out of adjustment, and S&W paid shipping both ways, replaced a bunch of parts that looked worn (was my only gun for years) and threw in a couple new mags. If not for the M&P line coming out, I would still have it.

Forever 7/12/95 purchase Sigma 40F, I have replaced a striker spring, stopped keeping track @ 5000 rds. I have fired 135 corbon- 180 feds, It likes win ranger 165 is as accurate as when I got it. Normal clean/lube. Has been very comforting on many a night. Be Safe,

Sigma and SD

I still have my S&W SD 40. Got it when it first came out because I sold my Sigma 9mm. Both are and were very good guns,especially for the price. The Sigma only cost $310.00 NIB from my LGS. I am going to buy a SD 9mm, since I have found you can't use barrel conversions on them. But I will get it after I get a S&W M&P .40c. I personally had no problem with the trigger on either guns. Trigger pull was harder than normal I guess but I shot them well and I sort of prefer a harder pull on a SD gun anyway.

My first one was a Sigma 9VE, unfortunately I had to sell it to pay for medical bills. I loved it, never a problem. I bought the SD9VE to replace it, happy as a lark with it!

I have my sigma 9F that I bought in the early 90's. Still shoot 150 rounds a month thru it. Less now that I have available a MP9 I do like it a lot more since the Apex spring kit was installed.

I still have my SD40VE, and I wouldn't part with it. It's my HDW, I like how it shoots, how it fits my hand...I like it!
