Look at what I traded into!

Thanks for the replies fellers! Geronimo: We're thinking of including 1917 revolvers in our WB categories. D the B: The fellow I got it from mentioned the same thing. I think I have a pair of Pachmayrs stashed away in the shop somewhere. Guess I'd better root them out.

Look at what I traded into!

Have your ever had an itch that you can't scratch? Well one of mine has been finding a 1917 locally in decent condition that I could afford. This week I had the opportunity to scratch my itch in a most unexpected manner. I finished some work for a feller and when he came over to pick up the...

    Some times Whining Wins!

After a meager bit of research, I don't believe these grips are original to the piece. I'm thinking they would be more likely found on a 32 but I'm definately not well versed on this subject. I checked the right grip panel and there is indeed a serial number: 199376. What does this tell us?

    Some times Whining Wins!

Thanks for the comments fellers. Glad to learn more about its DOB. It does have the four line address as well as the hammer block. Here's how it looked when it came out of the pistol rug.

    Some times Whining Wins!

Went to the gun show this weekend to help man our club table and not really looking for anything in particular. Lack of funds sure dulls the edge of interest. Slowly working my way down the aisles during a slow spell, I came across a Colt Detective Special in great condition. This set off a...

    Schofields

Here's my Uberti purchased through Cimarron. It went out of time while I was putting the first hundred familiarization rounds through it. Had to send it back for repair. Haven't had a problem with it since.

Photos of your antique S&W Model Top Breaks

To be honest, I don't know as I'm more of shooter than a collector. I've always called it a "lemon squeezer" and it's in 38.

Thanks for the response! The boot knife was made by a close friend who is very talented.

Here's my only antique Smith. Looks a little worn but still locks up tight and shoots pretty good. In my opinion still makes a nice belly gun even today.

Two of my favorites: a 4" revolver in 45lc and an Ocean 7, LM-2.

    Tell Me About the 16-4

For the past few years most of our spare time has been devoted to our local CAS club but one of these days I'm going to find the time to shoot my 32's more. They're really nice pistolas.

    Ok, It's done!

Wow! I never imagined this Performance Center 640-1 would provoke such a response! I'm humbled, thanks everyone. Glad you guys like it. I'm self-taught and have been engraving professionally for about eight years now. This pistol is for my son so that he can have something with which to...

    Ok, It's done!

I posted this pistol shortly after completing over 70 hours of work on it. At the time, I included pictures with it wearing a set of plain walnut boot grips that I found in the shop. Also in that post I said I was working getting it some new pants. Well, it took a while but I finally located a...
