    RCBS 250K

Assuming you are shooting magnums, then ditto the 9.5 Unique for about 1000 fps and 21 gr 2400 for the full-house medium game load. This one WILL penetrate.

    1911 feeding problem

You say 1911 and SW1911 with external extractor is assumed. Is the extractor hook clean and does the extractor slide in and out freely in its slot? Extractor tension on the case rim is a critical thing in 1911 function.

Reloading with .357 vs. .38 Special cases

You can't go wrong using .357 cases, unless you use look-alike components for target and magnum loads and then mix them up. No carbon ring worries and no chance that any of your full-house .357 loads could be inadvertently loaded into some poor, innocent .38 Special. Loading full charge .357's...

    Lead issue

Ditto Carefully clean the gun down to bare metal. Then start shooting with the lead bullet loads and carefully inspect the forcing cone. If it still leads, then re-clean and try different lead loads. If you are going to try to solve the problem by handloading swaged or cast bullets, please see...

Belt buckle question for anyone who knows...

Thanks! Thank you very kindly for answering. Your answer makes sense and I've been unable to find it elsewhere.

Belt buckle question for anyone who knows...

What company makes belt buckles with an anchor icon cast into the back side of the buckle? I've seen the anchor on different buckles over the years but haven't been able to find the company that makes them.

    Erratic Reloads

First, the other posters are totally correct. Cast bullets have the potential to be every bit as accurate as jacketed. Second, clean the bore and chambers of all fouling; powder ash, lead, and copper. It may require soaking in hoppes or another mild solvent with daily refreshing for a few days...

    How can this happen?

Stang68, You probably already know this, but I'll post it anyway, just to be sure. If you decap before tumbling, a substantial number of cases will come out of the tumbler with media particles firmly lodged in the flash holes. Inspection and removal is tedious, but critical.

what is this behind trigger ? 686

It is the trigger stop and is designed to stop the rearward motion of the trigger just after the sear releases.

Good job! I like the idea of casters. Will have to do that for my own man-cave!

    Cast Bullets Lube Question

Having cast bullets on and off since 1975, here goes. If you are only going to cast a small number of bullets, then go with the Lee. The lubricator-sizers are definitely more expensive, unless you need to produce a large number of different bullet sizes. The key to minimizing cost is accurately...

    reloading w/winchester large pistol primers

If you are going to load Unique, your WLP primers will be just fine for the .45 acp and the .44 mag. They are large pistol primers, just as CCI 300's are, and are suitable for the fast to medium burning rate powders. Magnum primers e.g., CCI 350 are for lighting the slowest burning ball powders...

    1911 question

Mod520Fan nailed it. Colt went to the collet bushing of the 70 series to improve barrel to bushing tolerance for improved accuracy with no added hand-fitting. It was later found that collet fingers could break, tying up the gun. I believe that is why the collet bushing was dropped from production.

how long have you been reloading

Shotshells since I was about 12 years old, so 43 years. Metallic cartridges a few years less.

    Maneating Lions On Increase

The reserve in which the bridge scenes were filmed for Ghost and the Darkness is Songimvelo, in South Africa (check the credits in the video). I hunted there several years ago and took a blue wildebeest and an impala. The stalk to the wildebeest went past no less than 5 white rhino, two of which...
