    What's your favorite Model 2x?

Get a 25-5...you won't regret it. 45 Colt is amazing. So far I have 25-5 and 28...and several 62x that don't count for this thread :P . Would like a 29 and 27 at some point myself.

    357 Model 19-3, 2 1/2" Serial 1K53096

According to the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson, should be 1971 ship date. I'm sure the real experts will be along with more info.

Been a while, but my "new to me" model 19

Thanks everyone....I cannot wait until I get it and put a few rounds through it. Froggie, don't worry, only thing to think about was my college tuition payment vs. new gun....but then I realized layaway was a beautiful thing ;) Actually, my dad gifted me a 4" 66-2 that had been a local...

Been a while, but my "new to me" model 19

It's been quite a while since I've logged in, but at work yesterday a beautiful piece came in from a regular customer who is a collector. Of course, I had to grab it and put it aside....to think about it. I'm going to get a very fair price on it, and will tuck it away with the rest of my...

Model 60-9 S&W Customer Service Experience

Please bear with me...I have a question after the story. I ordered a new replacement cylinder for my Model 60-9, clearly stating the caliber as 357 magnum, and offering the serial number. The guy said he really didn't need the serial number, and said he'd get it out in a couple weeks. We got...

    Timing on Cylinder?

My 60-9 was manufactured in '96, so this would still have to be done if they are sending me a new cylinder?

    Timing on Cylinder?

If I get a new cylinder for my 60-9, does it have to be retimed? Someone told me it would be, but I thought it had the same cutouts and was identical to the old one. Help?

Chipped cylinder stop cutout? Model 60-9

Hi all, Hope this is in the proper forum. I have a S&W 60-9 357 Magnum that has one of the cylinder stop cutouts (proper term???) on the cylinder a little chipped. Whenever this particular cutout gets to the bottom of the frame to lock into place, it will function fine however, you can rotate...

    629 club

Okay, now I gotta throw one in...'specially since it's "new to me". Bought it earlier last month on my 21st birthday from work. Got a good deal on it, and it's one of my favorite N-Frames (not counting the ones my father gave me). Four inch, magnaported, 629-4. The serial number prefix puts...

2A Friendly businesses, taking up a notch

SanJoseScott, I recently started doing similar things with places I do business with. An example of this is Amazon.com. I'm a college student and purchase most of my textbooks from them. As soon as I learned they were pushing gun "buy back" programs, I refuse to do business with them...

What's It Worth? 629 No Dash

    Beautiful gun. Very nice find!

    DHS RAID

I've heard the same thing from some of the news sources I follow. I'm curious to know what they will be charging him with and what prompted the search and seizure...and if there was a warrant involved.

    The 'unofficial' 58 Club

Very nice looking thread. I have wanted a 58 ever since my dad had me shooting his 4" model 57 when I was a kid...sadly he sold it years ago. This is on the top of my bucket list ;)

    Open Carry...

Open Carry is good if it is the only option. In Wisconsin, we were stuck with Open Carry with a TON of restrictions for years until we finally got the CCW law. I just turned 21 earlier this year, and finally got my permit. However, before that, I was stuck with Open Carry. In Wisconsin, 18...

    "No Lock" M&P 340 backorder

The LGS I work at part time has been out of stock on J-frames for nearly a month/6 weeks. We've had a 638 on backorder at all of our distributors for over a year for one of our customers. None to be had. The last one we had was a 642 with lock...now we can't even find those.
