We transitioned to the S&W SA in 7/85 and the 659 was the production gun.

We had several 669's that had to be returned to S&W with cracked frames at the rails. The frame is replaced with a 6906 frame with the same SN. That is no longer the case and cracked frames will not be replaced. The owner, if if original is out of luck. That was probably the case here.

Frames are long gone. A repair on a handgun still owned by the original owner for a cracked frame was denied last year.

We had issues with slide rails cracking on low round count units. In the past, S&W repaired them. but the 659 we wanted to send in for a frame crack was denied due to a lack of parts. I'd look for a 6906.

Keep a check on the frame for cracks around the rail and slide stop openings. We have had issues with departmental guns in the past.

I carried a 6906 and a 669 on duty and a 3913 off duty. I never liked the feel of the 3913 as much as the 6906. It comes down to a personal preference. both functioned fine with a wide varity of ammo makes and types. We did have a problem with cracked frames in some 669's. All were corrected...

My wife is a Saint's fan longer than I but she loves the Manning family. While the colts may come out on top, I think it's going to be a lot closer than that. Even the dog is going with the Saint's.......

But how long to completely dry. I clean a few hundred a session. This method would not work. I think you would get similar results just soaking in the same solution.
