Rough bore
Just updating post hate when people don't tell you the end of the story.
S&W sent my gun back a little over a month ago with the same messed up barrel and said to use "good quality ammo" and a how to clean a barrel write up.
I own a couple more S&W fire arms and generally like...
Hello Sent mine back a couple of months ago for same issue leading up the barrel too quickly. The barrels are poorly machined a rough bore if you will. Smith and do nothing Wesson said to use quality ammo and gave me a how to clean a gun barrel. This is getting to be a known issue with this...
22 compact update.
Today I received a notice that my pistol was being shipped back and will be here 5-6-2016. I called Smith and Wesson to see what was done to the gun. The service rep said they repaired the barrel I aske replaced or repaired he said again repaired. So we'll see what it looks...
I had recently bought a .22 compact myself 0n 04/12/2016 upon cleaning it before shooting noticed a line in the bore after some investigating turned out to be tool marks, a little more research turns out there are a least a hand full of these guns with this issue you might have them check it out...
Good to hear very encouraging. Gives me hope I like the gun feels better built than my P22. Mine ran great out of the box as far as going through ammo. I agree with you on the safety on the ruger and the "muscle memory".
I had purchased a 22 compact on 4/12/2016 took it home cleaned it also noticed tool marks in the bore shot it anyways in hope they wouldn't make a difference, not the case not very good accuracy and excessive leading.
Its hard to tell at the gun shop the bore has a thick grease for rust...
I noticed this sound also I then went and checked my .223 AR same sound then went and checked a friends .223 AR same thing.
The difference being you cant hear it when a live .223 round goes off butt it's easy to hear with a .22 LR. It's just how that trigger works.
