I have one of these.
Picatinny Adjustable Foldable Spring Return Rest Sniper Hunting Rifle Bipod M50 | eBay
It quickly detaches and is height adjustable. I only use it when I'm shooting off of a bench so I swap it out between several guns. It's all I need, works great, looks good, swivels side...
From what I have read, the JP springs work for some and not for others. For only $10 it is worth a shot but you'll prolly have to keep your gun very light with no accessories. Upgrading the trigger is the most reliable way to get the job done and you'll have a faster rate of fire.
This and this alone is all you need.
Jard Adjustable Trigger AR-15 Small Pin .154 1-1/2 lb Single Stage
It works even with the added weight of accessories. Here is a video of me shooting mine.

Check out the JARD TRIGGERS thread from a few days...

Jard Trigger Installation Guide - Part 1 - YouTube
I used this guys videos to install mine. This is the first one and there are 3 more after that. Very detailed instructions.
Get the jard and read the thread that is titled jard trigger. It's on the front page still. The jard is cheaper, works great, and comes with everything you need. Unlike the other triggers. I have it on my 15 22 / Slide Fire
It doesn't need the plate unless you are going to run a slide fire stock on your gun. The high rate of fire makes the pin walk. I guess the plate is something newly added to the trigger kit.
