    Model 52 serial number question

I was recently reviewing my 52-2 and looked up the serial number to determine age and was surprised. - first, it is now old enough now to be C&R - 2nd, the serial number doesn't fit the established serial ranges Serial is A105113 where SCS&W shows "A" prefix serials starting at A115001...

Ed, As always, your input is much appreciated! It clears up some of the question marks on this package.

    Boxed, engraved Mod 1, 3rd

It's just the light. The finish is nickel and looks like new. The rear third of the bore appeared tarnished slightly, but there was no pitting in the bore and rifling is undisturbed. The cylinder has no powder marks anywhere.

    Boxed, engraved Mod 1, 3rd

Last weekend, I ran across a boxed, engraved, Model 1, 3rd Issue with what appears to be an original box of cartridges. The box appears to be a factory presentation case. The cartridge box is not full, the top has separated from the rest of the box, and the lead bullets are starting to turn to...

WTT 1892 Winchester sn 724 short rifle for Model 3 S&W

Several collectors have mentioned that the barrel hanger is too close to the muzzle, and they are apparently correct. In showing the gun today to a knowledgable Winchester collector, he pointed out why these early guns often had cut barrels and what was done on this example. It has had the...

New Model No 3 Club Gun, Serial No 5C

Don, Roy did not mention whether 0C through 4C are still known to exist. The obvious question is whether you have any of those guns. I'm thinking of checking with the Historical Foundation to see if they have any info, but with no great confidence. Dave

This revolver is now part of my collection. I received Roy Jinks's letter Saturday indicating this is a very early club gun! That explains the oddities of the gun.

New Model No 3 Club Gun, Serial No 5C

A few months ago, I ran across this revolver, serial number 5C and am curious about some of the oddities of this gun. Pictures are not mine - they were done by the previous owner. 1) cylinder contour is quite different from others I've seen - was this a factory option or was this a special...
