The Shield is indeed pocketable in most pants, jeans, etc. It can be carried in a UM#4 for better concealment than with the Nemesis. Loaded it is indeed a bit heavy but one can balance it out with a padded Android cell phone wallet in the other pocket. Great for night walks with the dog or to...
I wasn't aware of such postings as I do not attend their range.
In any event, that would not be much of an issue for me as my Shield has been FrogLubed. If I sense the gun is too dry I may spread a little of the cold paste on the rails when cleaning the firearm. Otherwise I just bring it to...
I think the thread is about how well or not so well the Shield pocket carries for people with their varying body shapes and clothing- IOW, what seems to work, and what does not.
I had that concern in the beginning but it just broke in. Suggest that you insert mag gently until you feel resistance then forcefully tap up the bottom of the mag with the heel of your palm. Make sure the top round is seated properly to the rear of the magazine and does not protrude before...
Update: Sold the 442, sold the Sticky, got a Remora RFT and use IWB for the Shield and quite pleased with the setup. For pocket carry I prefer the Nemesis and UM #4 for the Shield.
At least for me, the Shield is the BEST concealed pistol out there. When one weighs the different factors, my opinion is based upon the fact that for practical purposes we seldom ever have to use our pistols for protection. Given that fact, and since the Shield is so accurate and so much fun...
That's a great deal and I encourage y'all to get in on it!
I sold the Sticky and got the Remora IWB RFT for my Shield. I'm also getting a standard one for the Beretta M9A1. I definitely prefer the Remora over the Sticky.

See underlined part, above.
I think that it's irresponsible and overly prudent in sending an unfired firearm back to S&W when all indicators are to the contrary.
Shoot the darn thing already. One will find the springs loosen a bit after only one range session. The firearm is a joy to...
Much ado about 'nothing'...
There's nothing but FUD in this thread.
Don't let it discourage you! I've been shooting over 25 years and the Shield may be my favorite 9mm shooter of all!
Just remember that this defeats design of the firearm in field-stripping without having to pull the trigger, is less safe, and is not approved nor even mentioned in the manual. The 'Glock' method of field-stripping is rapidly becoming a thing of the past, due to ND in field-stripping/cleaning...
Update: My Shield weighs 24.1 oz. (1.5 lbs.!) with 7 + 1 of HST 124gr. I am downgrading the rating for pocket carry from '6.5 to a 7' to '6.0 to 6.5'- barely acceptable due to weight, not fit.
Compare: My 442 with CT LG-405 grips and 5 rounds of Speer 135gr +P GDHP weighs only ~1 lb. (16.9...
